https://mobile.twitter.com/DXContent/status/1004406218708963328 How does this make people feel knowing that Ayton compares physically to two of the most injury prone bigs drafted in the top 5 of the last 12 years?

He could've just as easily been compared to Steven Adams but wasn't because ya know, he's black.
7-0, 255, 7-4.5
I picked a pretty solid comp I see.

Crazy question:

IF Lebron were to choose Philly, and we take Ayton, how would a balanced Simmons-Booker trade should be? What pieces and in what direction?

Philly avoids having issues in playmaking balance and put a supreme shooter next to Embiid and Lebron, while we get our Engine to pair with Ayton and the rest of the core. Call it the reverse of the Doncic/DAJ pairing if you like.
It would probably take Booker and at lease another asset.

Booker moves the needle a little, Simmons moves the needle a lot.
LeBron goes to Philly because a guy like Simmons plays point and takes the load off in terms of handling and distributing the ball, which means less usage and minutes for LeBron. Booker can can help with that, but it would still be LeBron having to play point and dominate on the ball to get others involved.

Maybe he KNOWS it’s the right thing to do, but maybe he eventually will grow FEELINGS about it.
He nutered Kevin Love in Cleveland and run Kirye out, only Wade was capable to make him share the spotlight.
That was clearly LeBron's team after the 1st season though.
Love, Hurts.

Daaannggg

I know it's been a steady Ayton vs Doncic debate and although my initial choice is Luka I've decided to not be watching too many vids/interviews cuz I don't wanna get hooked on someone sigh smh lol

All the comments on Bamba had me curious so I finally watched something. Now here I am totally impressed with how he spoke and wondering if there would be a way to get him. I really think I will just wait to see who we draft and then afterwards watch as much vids as possible to get to know them

Scouts were enamored with Oden's physical skills and his basketball ability (he had just been a consensus All-American and led Ohio State to the title game).
He looked slow and mechanical in his one year of college. His offensive game was very unimpressive.

I don't think Simmons is as good as Booker. He may be more unique, but I don't think he is as good.

Fultz would play point.

Thank you. It feels like everyone around the country have already anointed Simmons as the next GREAT player.

Don't get me wrong, I like him a lot, but his shot makes Josh's look like Curry's.

The Best Doncic scouting video I've seen:

I'm not watching the video, but I'll say this:

Doncic is the unmatched compared to the other prospects in this draft in terms of making his teammates better. And what I love about constructing a team around him is that opens up some many more options in terms of what sort of players can thrive on your team. So all of these small guards that lack point guard ability but can score, or shoot, or defend at an elite level are now viable options because a coach can put Doncic in the front court and start two shooting guards in the backcourt. And for the opponent, that is going to be a nightmare to defend.

Honest question, should I be disappointed if (or is it when?) the Suns pick Ayton?

I don't think I've ever had this much cognitive dissonance with the draft before.

This. I like watching Simmons, but I think he's more a regular season player.

I openly wonder if he ever will. He had the time, knowledge, and motivation to improve it while he took a year off and it didn't get even a tiny bit better.

That's essentially what he says. Doncic's passing, competitiveness, and joy for the game are going to instantly transform the team he goes to. Some of your bad players start to look good. And the video does give good consideration to Doncic's flaws as well.

I know you are avoiding Doncic videos, but maybe check out that guy's coverage of some other players. He has IMO fair, balanced, and thinks in terms of how players fit with their teammates. Plus, he has a good voice and well produced videos.

You can be the Man, without causing panic attacks on one of the other stars, or slowly pushing out the door another. Like Inf said in another thread, the Lebron Show is always on, and never second.

If he does, he would become untouchable on trades. Same if Booker ever becomes a lockdown defender.

Doncic is the perfect prototypical fit for today's NBA. He can play the 1-4 and can be a mismatch nightmare for opposing teams.

Suns even have his former HC in place here making it a faster development process for yet still won't take him...so ******* stupid.
