I haven't heard anything about the Suns being in the mix for the pick, with ESPN stating that "The Grizzlies have several potential trade partners, as the Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and LA Clippers have shown varying degrees of interest in a deal, a source told ESPN."TheOriginalOriginal wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 11:10 amSame.specialsauce wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 11:02 amMan I hope the Suns offer up every asset outside of Booker Jackson and #1 pick to nab Doncic as well

Oh I know, I am just dreaming about adding Doncic and Ayton.
More likely we add Young or Kemba as a PG and Ayton.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread
Pipe dream here, but what about a 3-way trade with ATL and MEM?
Suns get: 3rd pick (Doncic), Chandler Parsons
Hawks get: 4th pick, MIL pick, MIA ‘21 pick, protected Suns pick for next year.
MEM: TJ Warren, 16th, 31, Hawks 19th pick.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread
We are giving up TJ Warren, 5 picks, AND taking back a very bad contract?
The Hawks are moving down one pick and are getting back 3 picks for it?
I think there could be something here, but this proposal is out of balance.

Just spit balling here, it absolutely can be improved. At the end of the day if we want BOTH Ayton and Doncic, we’re going have to pay a heavy price no matter what.

This proposal is worth it. SIGN ME UP. If anything, those additional draft picks should go to Memphis for dropping so far
Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread
Would the Hawks take Warren and 16 for Schroder and the 33rd?

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread
Why on earth would you want Schroeder? He can't hit the 3 and he's not particularly good at distributing either. Not to mention he has a bad attitude.
Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread
I think the attitude thing is overblown. He's also been playing in Atlanta and wants to win. I see a similar situation we've had with Booker where the team has been losing and there's frustration, except in Atlanta's case they've legitimately stripped the team down each offseason. I think with better players around him he becomes a better shooter (shot 34% from 3 2 years ago) and is averaging 18 and 6 over 30mpg since becoming a full time starter. We know he can break down a defense, can defend, and distribute. He can also come in Day 1 ready to play.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread
I'm not worried about coming in day 1 ready to play. We as a team are not going to be ready to play day 1. I'm worried about taking in a massive contract on a PG that is shoot first but can't hit the 3, and doesn't distribute particularly well. Might as well have kept Bledsoe.ShelC wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:29 pmI think the attitude thing is overblown. He's also been playing in Atlanta and wants to win. Meaning..."I don't want to give up any of my precious or put myself out there if it doesn't work out". I will be very disappointed if the Suns don't make some significant changes this off-season when they have the opportunity and means to do so.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread
Agree. I’ll be quite disappointed as well. Fully expecting us to consolidate our assets this draft/FA period. McD just overvalues his pieces too much until they become a problem then he is forced to sell low.
I’m not necessarily pushing us to trade ALL of our picks/enticing contracts...but I have no interest in standing pat and just using all the selections as they fall. We have the 16th, our pick next year, Miami and Mil picks, Sauces sweet deal, TJ Warren’s friendly contract. You have to use some of these to improve your team.
