I'd happily take Dragic back, but I don't think he would ever want to play here again.
Maybe we can entice him with an offer like: he gets to punch Bob and Ryno in the face, and we play the hits on the Jumbotron during games.

I'm surprised there aren't more comments about Anderson's "paycut".
https://twitter.com/BobbyMarks42/status/1035558679565791232 Bobby often loses me with Salary Cap n CBA talk lol. Is this good for Suns ?

Basically we can trade him after the season using the 21 million figure, but the receiving team can waive him and only pay 15 million. Receiving team can dump an extra 6 million.

For example, say Charlotte decides they want out of Batum's contract, they can trade Batum straight up for Anderson, because the 21 million Anderson is owed is close enough to the 25 million batum is owed in 19-20. Then they waive Anderson saving them nearly 10 million in 19-20 and then the full 27 million in 20-21.

Another thing to note. We can reach max cap space next off season, by simply waiving and stretching Anderson.

Anderson is well past his prime.
I wonder about that. He had a down season, but he’s not old. He’s 30.
Biggest shock for me looking at Anderson's stats was his age. He looked DONE last year. I assume he doesn't play much for us, but you never know.

Happy Chriss and Knight are gone. Hated Knight. I’ll chalk this up to addition by subtraction. I’m good with the trade

Alright, here's my take

I LOVE sending out Knight and Chriss.
  • I cant stress enough how important it is to have different players in the locker room this season. We can't bring back the losing culture, and those two have had bad attitudes and bad play.
  • For the first time in years, we traded guys before they made a public scene.
  • For the first time in years, we traded guys without (so far) bashing them in the media.
  • We traded out two bad players who, even at their best, don't fit in with the way the team is built.
  • This takes some pressure off the rotation, since we sent out 2 guys who think they should start for 2 guys who will be glad for any role they get.
I don't mind getting back Melton and Anderson.
  • I really like Melton's potential. Only time will tell if he turns into anything, but I do like who he could become.
  • Both players games fit here very well.
  • Anderson knows how to play stretch 4, and will be able to teach a little in the locker room and in practice.
  • I honestly think Anderson won't mind a reduced role. He struggled to defend all season, sat out the playoffs, and just reworked his contract to come here. I think he will try to extend his career by being a veteran presence, and he won't worry so much about playing time.

Sure, Chandler and Daniels would be fine. Just not gonna pull from our core/youth to trade for dragic. (Booker, Ayton, Jackson, Bridges, Warren, Bender, Reed, Okobo, Melton, 1st round picks are off limits)
Melton off limits? Reed off limits? For Dragic?

I guess I just don't see the point. If the salary we're sending out is Anderson, then sure, add Reed to the deal. But, dragic has 18 million this year and 19 million next year. If Chandler is the salary going out, we just used all our cap space next season on a 32 year old, nearly washed up PG. I'm not moving an asset for that.

To me, Dragic would be valuable to the team next year, but he's a bad investment in 19-20 if he costs us cap space.

Well Bleacher Report posted Gambo's tweet so now social media is having it's usual field day on Suns.... Why would either of those teams trade us their starting guards, we only have one good player yada yada

Then these days there must always be the Overanalyzing of Random tweets smh

https://twitter.com/esidery/status/1035645575843082240 Thoughts?

I like both pg's and would add Collison to make my top 3 targets list. Don't like moving Okobo so quickly as I'm pretty high on him. I'd prefer the Delon wright move.

If we gave up that much for Rozier, it would signal another tanking season.

How would it signal a tanking season? We'd be moving two unproven prospects for a proven one.

Cap relief for next summer, Goran is not what he was when they got him, and they are not going anywhere, better to play the FA market in a great crop year

I doubt it even gives them enough cap relief to be players in free agency. They are way over the cap.

Lateral moves. I don't think Rozier is a even a second tier starting PG and he wants to be paid well above that.
