I personally like having 2 centers on the roster. As far as any changes, including an auction-style draft, we'd need a majority to change them.

Anybody that feels strongly about wanting a change, go ahead and make a poll thread. I will direct everybody here to vote. Maybe make it a public vote so we only count actual managers' votes.

When/how is the draft order chosen?

Let's start up the Rook League again so we can lower the amount of people in the Vets?

Setting a custom draft order would be cool. Maybe allow people to pick their spot based on how they finished last year? Would take a bit of time to get everyone organized to do it.

Two leagues again would also be great, but only if we can keep the vet league at a minimum of 12 teams. I find 10 or fewer teams to be too casual because every roster is loaded.

That sounds like a dynasty league in the making.

I kind of like the 14x14 format in this league. Offers something different without being really goofball...

I also prefer 14 teams over anything else as long as all the owners are active.

Shall we try to organize a rookie league this year? If so we probably should invite managers sooner rather than later as it's about 3 weeks till start of the season...

Shouldn't we make sure we have 14 active managers first in the Vet league before starting a rookie league and see if there's enough demand?

Doing something simply because the way it's been done for 15 years isn't a convincing argument. Can you provide any other reason to support your opinion?
I do things all the time simply because it’s the way it’s been done for years. It’s called religion.

I don’t play fantasy basketball. Is it like a religion?

Count me in. I'm also pretty much a rookie.

Maybe do a 10 team rookie league that would include the 13th and 14th place GMs from last year, kinda like relegation. 8 newbies and 2 vets. Then go with a 12 team Vet league.

Ok I started the rookie league again. The same rules will apply as the Vets league. Here's the link... https://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo. ... 9ab8f022f4

I play fantasy basketball because it's not like religion. Ironic.

If we don't want to go Auction, how do people feel about a keeper league?

You could do a 3 round penalty for keepers - meaning if you draft a player in round 12 this year and want to keep them, you lose your 9th round pick next year.
Precious Achiuwa, Dalano Banton, Batum, Chris Boucher, Amir Coffey, Tre Jones, Laravia, Mamukelashvili, Tre Mann, De'Anthony Melton, Minott, Nance, Chris Paul, GP2, T. Prince, Reed, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Tate, Watford, Yabusele

That's probably not gonna work if we do the rook/vet league thing.

That's kind of the problem. Everyone has a different idea or suggestion but not enough people can agree on it, so we'll end up with a 12/14 team snake draft like every other year.

I think the only solution is to keep the league how it's always been for those who don't want to change, and solicit or make a new league with the changes you'd prefer (auction, keeper, whatever).

I'm all for trying something new as long as the owners, and especially the commissioner, are fully invested. Nothing ruins a fantasy league quicker than auto picks in an auction draft or owners who give up halfway through the first season in a keeper league.

I think we should all agree that the rookie/vet thing won't happen. We seem to have trouble just filling up our league, so getting an additional 6-10 teams will probably not happen.

Let's work on making the vet league the best it can be.
