Wow, that's nuts. He is smart about basketball in his own way, but I don't know if I would want him in a front office. He's kind of blunt and rude in a way that would make me worry about him working as part of a team. And he seems to care mostly just about gambling on the NBA more than the NBA itself.carey wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 8:06 pmNot sure if this has been posted, but can you believe the Mavs hired Bob Voulagaris? Here's the story for anyone interested.

So that would tell me he wants to know more about potential outcomes on the court more than anyone else, especially those outcomes that other people can't predict, or will predict incorrectly. I think having someone like that on the inside of your org would be a benefit.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 12:10 pmWow, that's nuts. Re: Around the League: 2018 Offseason
I just listened to the Locked On NBA podcast, and they did a lot of Laker talk. I did hear them say that they hope that the Suns dive quickly so that they release Tyson Chandler so he can join the Lakers and solidify their 2nd string center position. It might be just me, but this annoys the heck out of me. I hear this stuff about buying out Ariza and he hasn't even played a regular season game for the Suns yet too.

I'm guessing he (and his family) can no longer bet on the NBA when he has an insider seat like that.Indy wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 12:52 pmSo that would tell me he wants to know more about potential outcomes on the court more than anyone else, especially those outcomes that other people can't predict, or will predict incorrectly. This is going to be a long season for the Cavs and their fans.
Re: Around the League: 2018 Offseason
In fairness to Smith, WTF did Baynes think he was doing?

It certainly looks that way. And if he was trying to injure, he deserves a suspension.
Fines for Smith and Smart.

Dejuante Murray tore his ACL. Too bad. He's a guy I like to follow.

David Aldridge is retiring. This was his last Morning Tip. I always liked linking his columns in my news posts, but he's been covering the league for 30 years & it sounds like he's a little burnt out.

Yeah, not retiring. Moving to The Athletic like almost every other known sportswriter in existence.Indy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 6:17 amI thought he was moving to The Athletic, not retiring.carey wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 5:54 amDavid Aldridge is retiring. The Athletic is gonna soak up all the talent they can in an attempt to get bought by ESPN or some other big money media brand.
