 Why? Wouldn't you hold out as long as you could in hopes of a bigger payday?

Its not affecting business and I'd rather not pay him anyway, so meh.

Bledsoe's complains are not offensive, but they are ridiculous, and it's his agent/himself who are to 'blame', if anything.

You are not getting 5/80+ period, and 5 years is only happening if it is just too team friendly to pass from the Suns standpoint.

If there is no common ground there, his agent should have realized quickly and react securing an offer sheet of their liking. That's strictly agent work, and he couldn't get it done. You could say that the Suns did scary off team by saying all year long that they are marching anything, but that's the standard procedure and hardly anything to complain about.

He didn't get it done, other teams have spent their money or moved on, and all left is two sides who are just too far apart. 4/48 sounds great in theory but not when your brain is full with max money promises/illusions.

At this point his agent should advocate and seek a 2-3 year deal as player friendly as possible, with a player option above all things. He avoids the risk of playing just for the QO, covers his injury prone ass with 25-40M depending on length and he can explore options again before entering his prime, but with the benefit of being unrestricted. Along the way he can ask for a trade, starting Dec 15.

The new CBA has been in place for a while now. If anybody is to blame, Eric, it is your agent.

The CBA is doing what it's designed to do. Prevent players like Bledsoe from garnering unwarranted max contracts. It's letting the Market decide what he is worth.

By joining Select Team, Miles Plumlee in 'pipeline' of USA Basketball
Paul Coro, azcentral sports

Two weeks ago, Suns center Miles Plumlee was in Las Vegas as an inexperienced player who needed his skills to be developed during a NBA Summer League composed of mostly non-NBA players.

This week, Plumlee is in Las Vegas as a rising talent who can help push the nation's best players in preparation for the FIBA World Cup.

Plumlee, 25, is part of the 13-man USA Basketball Select Team that will scrimmage this week against the men's national team during its training camp. He did not see his selection coming earlier this month when Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby called. The good news was made better by telling him that his brother Mason of the Brooklyn Nets also was picked for the team.

AMEN !!

That's my whole point about trying to pursue Boozer or Gasol (when they were available). Suns weakness last season was they gave up too many offensive rebounds which lead to second chance points.

C'mon, Boozer for......$3.25 million ? Milwaukee or Philly should've made stronger bids (if they did bid at all). They respectively need talent in the worse way.

Hopefully Len can be an inside presence and stay out of foul trouble. This season will be huge for him. Let's see what he can do.

This article warms my heart:
Suns players think local for summer workouts
Paul Coro, azcentral sports

The roars bellowing inside US Airways Center in recent months did not just belong to the circus animals who made residence in June. Some came from the Suns' weight room.

The polyrhythmic beats inside the arena have not just been for concerts. Sneaker soles squeaked for more than the Mercury, as the Suns also have been on the practice court in groups since late April.

Players are made in the offseason, but the Suns are putting themselves in a position to make their team, too. With a roster mostly of returnees, an unusually high amount of Suns chose Phoenix as a summer home to work with Suns staff.

"It's something that makes our team special," Suns center Miles Plumlee said. "Not many teams have guys here this early and this consistently. It's that bond that carries over into the regular season, and we're pushing each other to get better."

From late April through July, Plumlee, Markieff and Marcus Morris, P.J. Tucker, Alex Len, Archie Goodwin, Shavlik Randolph, Ish Smith and Dionte Christmas were workout regulars. Smith and Christmas were waived in the past two weeks, but Suns rookies T.J. Warren and Tyler Ennis also became part of the group in preparation for July's summer league. They will be the first to return for more workouts in two weeks.

Most of the team is expected back for good after Labor Day, when voluntary workouts and pickup games lead up to the Sept. 29 start of training camp.

Glad to hear that. The Suns will need to start the season on fire if they want to have a chance at the playoffs.

And totally loved this:
After last season, each Suns player and his agent was given a packet with three tailored components: a summer strength-and-conditioning program from the athletic trainers, an analytics breakdown of the player's strengths and weaknesses, and suggested on-court drills from the coaching staff with video and shot charts.

Meanwhile, Eric Bledsoe hasn't been in the valley since the season ended. Keep up that chemistry and team love, Eric. I'm sure your teammates are really feeling warm and tingly watching you / your agent bitch and moan about max dollars.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I'd be ok if he was hitting more 3's, but not shooting more 3's.

I just worry he'll turn into Frye if he starts making them. He's got a decent mid range game and can get his own shot. I'd hate to see him settle for 3's when he has shown he can do more than that.
