Game Day: Suns (3-13) @ Bulls (4-13), Wed 11/21/18

It's really getting to the point for me where I don't like watching Booker play. Just makes so many dumb decisions. He's a wonderful shooter, but he does little else for me right now.

Ariza just seriously missed the rim by a good 2 feet on that 3-pointer.

I think we're tanking. Though they don't want to be blatant about it. They find something that works then they go away from it.

To be fair, the Bulls are a great team.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

This game should have been a win and the Suns pissed it away, with their complete lack of defense at times. Booker was not good tonight, especially on Defense. Ayton should have blocked LaVine about 4 times. Where is our sense of urgency?

...And he's not yet a max contract sort of player.
That's not on him ... that's on a desperate, tone-deaf management that lacks basketball smarts. Sarver, McD, et al.

Ayton gets another double-double.
Big deal.
At this rate, he's more Walt Bellamy than David Robinson ...

Bulls shot 56.8% tonight. They had 24 FTA to our 10. Outrebounded us. We jacked up 34 3-pointers and only made 10. This all ties back to effort--it just isn't there. The biggest offender, apart from maybe Ariza who is washed, is Booker. It's a problem when our wings can't contain the perimeter, and our Center doesn't know what to do when someone enters the paint.

Canaan is worthless unless he's scoring about 20 pts at 50% shooting.

The Suns knew they had to max him, to make them look like they care. Its has parallels to Minnesota giving Wiggins a boat load of money for no reason other than they felt they had to.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 8:27 pmHe's not a point guard.TheOriginalOriginal wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 8:22 pmIt's really getting to the point for me where I don't like watching Booker play. Suns on a pace for 15 wins.
That would be the worst record in franchise history.

When you have a player that shoots 61% from the field, he shouldn't be 8-13. He should be 16-26. You finally have a center. Use him. It would turn out much better than Booker shooting 1-8 from three point range, that's for sure.

Well if you don't have a PG who knows how to get the ball to said C in a good position for him to just catch and finish, this is what you get. This team doesn't have a PG on its roster, Canaan was always a scorer, Melton and Okobo aren't PGs, Booker is Booker. Its still a problem that the FO refuses to address right now.

Cotton Fitzsimmons said something on a radio call-in show about the Suns in 1987 when he re-joined the organization that seems to be appropriate for the current team -
"The Suns just need better players."
Which was true then and is true now. They have a few keepers (Booker, Ayton, Bridges, etc.) but not enough of them, and right now no stars to lead the team.
The difference between 1988 and 2018 is that they had Jerry Colangelo and Cotton Fitzsimmons making the decisions, and now we have Robert Sarver and James Jones.
I am not feeling particularly confident.

I don’t know if they’ll win a game on the road this year. I don’t think we’ll break the inaugural season losses record but it’s not looking good for surpassing last year’s 2nd lowest ever win record.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 8:39 pmSuns on a pace for 15 wins.

Warren and Booker are both so one dimensional. :/
I'm no longer a fan of Igor as a head coach. His rotations are crazy. It seems like he doesn't ave any feel for the flow momentum of the game and he kills our rhythm with weird lineups and leaving guys on the court too long. And we are so bad out of timeouts.
I know there are a going to be ups and downs with a lot of downs this season, but it's hard not to react to games like this where you can see that the guys aren't really ready yet to compete at this level.
On the positive side, we rebouded a bit better tonight, Josh particularly. Bridges got a few , too. And the TO were down from everyone but Devin. We were in in throughout, but you've to win these "easy" ones.
