Seems like some time since we've had a trade scenario:

Phoenix receives: Jason Richardson, Brandon Bass, Marcus Smart, Kelly Olynyk, Shane Larkin, Hollis Thompson, 2016 second round pick (from Denver via Philadelphia)

Boston receives: Eric Bledsoe, Markieff Morris, Marcus Morris, Tim Hardaway Jr., Tyler Ennis, Alexey Shved, Minnesota 1st round pick (via Phoenix), NY 2017 1st round pick

New York receives: Rajon Rondo, Gerald Wallace, Shavlik Randolph, Chris Babb

Philadelphia receives: Amare Stoudemire, Archie Goodwin, Iman Shumpert

Wow, that's a whopper.

Chances of happening? 2.5%.

We give up Shavlik? Deal-breaker.

I feel like we take a beating in that scenario, but I like Smart and Olynyk showed flashes so whatever.

Yeah but Philly is real into tanking right now. It almost seems they would do any deal that would make them even worse then they are right now.

Philly only gives up Jason Richardson, Alexey Shved, Hollis Thompson, and a 2nd rounder. They're participation in the deal is to take on Amare's massive expiring contract, which they agree to in order to land Goodwin and Shumpert. Essentially, they're taking on $17 million in salary, but they're under the cap by $27 million.

Here's a revision:

Phoenix receives: Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, Marcus Smart, Kelly Olynyk, Shane Larkin, 2016 second round pick (from Denver via Philadelphia)

Boston receives: Eric Bledsoe, Markieff Morris, Marcus Morris, Tim Hardaway Jr., Tyler Ennis, Jason Richardson, NY 2017 1st round pick

New York receives: Rajon Rondo, Gerald Wallace, Alexey Shved

Philadelphia receives: Amare Stoudemire, Iman Shumpert, Shavlik Randolph, Minnesota 1st round pick (via Phoenix)

I see what you're doing INF. You're getting rid of all the players you don't like.

NY has already compromised its 2017 pick. The soonest they can move a 1st is 2018, unless they get another guaranteed pick from somebody in 2016.

By the way, this would be the largest trade in NBA history, and by a huge margin, as it involves 19 players whereas the Walker-Jason Williams one back in 2005 'only' included 11 active guys plus rights to two scrubs.

Beyond that, I don't know how willing would the 76rs be to pay 14M to acquire Archie and Shumpert, when they already have Wroten and McDaniels.

Also unsure what does Phil thinks of Rondo and how Fisher would make his system work without shooting from his PG. And cap wise, it smells fishy for them. First because they are involved in a sign and trade while having used the taxMLE and being above the apron, although the players they'd be getting are not the ones directly signed-and-traded, and second because this takes them out of the 2015 free agent game and essentially forces them to give Rondo whatever he wants.

As for Boston, I don't think they do it. Even if getting Bledsoe at the money he wants was seen more favorably than keeping Rondo all things considered, I can't call their value more than a wash, given their respective issues and status. That leaves the young parts as the real meat of the deal.

Morii-Ennis-1stR is not enough to acquire Smart alone especially once contracts are taken into account. Kieff and Marcus need vet contracts (thus neglecting Wallace) and the C's already have Sullinger and James Young cheaper which is arguably better/more upside. The pick still has value since Flip wants to compete, but who knows how much that will last. We'd have to know how they value Ennis, but my guess is that not very much, or at least they didn't at the draft because they had the chance to pick him and passed. This scenario would probably make a backup PG more desirable to them, but not enough to move the needle. And they have to give up Olynyk too.

For the Suns, you have to do it. Smart is just too good of a prospect and it turns a problem into a solution, on many levels. It is probably a short term downgrade on the court (in my opinion, of course) and it leaves us even thinner at PF/C because like it or not, Marcus seems to be spending time at PF with Kieff at C, and the one big man we'd get is not exactly a great rebounder or defender either. But worth it even after factoring Archie-Ennis and the pick. But again, I can't see the C's agreeing to this leviathan of a move, even after adding Hardaway and the pick.

He didn't want to go over the 19 player threshold. :P

It's all predicated on Rondo wanting out. So there really isn't a point in debating the merits of keeping Rondo.

I was not debating the merits of keeping Rondo, but asserting the role he and Bledsoe would play in this scenario. Rondo wants out but is still a quality player. Basically the same can be said about Bledsoe, since as a RFA he wants a contract from the current team well exceeding his worth. They both have had injury issues. Trading out an imperfect Rondo gets mostly balanced out by adding an imperfect Bledsoe. That's all I was saying.

I wonder if New Orleans would be interested in a Bledsoe-Holiday swap.

Nah. My plan to do that is completely different. I emailed Adam Silver (CCed Sarver) about starting an expansion team called the Scottsdale Shine that would have a core of Eric "Show-Me-The-Money" Bledsoe on an uber-max, franchise-designated deal, Crunchtime Tyler, the Ukranian Giraffe, the 29-pointer, Bogdan the Lesser, and Twin Power. They would be coached by Lindsey Hunter and the GM/owner would be Rich Paul.
