Check out Booker hitting the T and giving a Pelican 5 and AD's reaction near the end of this.

Danny Leroux is an NBA and basketball commentator. He is the host of RealGM radio podcast and cohost of the Dunc'd On podcast.
He just makes comments all the time about the Suns acting like he knows exactly what they are doing or how they play. He clearly never watches them. He believes that they are tanking, and instead of thinking that Ayton is either hurt or fouled out, he just assumes that they can't play Ayton on big defensive possessions at the end of games because you know...everyone knows Ayton is a horrible defender, one of the very worst in league history.
After this, he got inundated with Suns fans calling him out and he went on a blocking spree, because he is frankly very soft and thin skinned.

Isn’t the dunc’d on podcast the one that didn’t even rank booker in the top 10 of some young players list. Had guys like jamaal Murray and jaylen brown ahead of him. Also said Danny Green was a better sg. They’re just weirdly anti-suns.

Ding, Ding, Ding! Yes, you are correct.

One of them came on a suns podcast and tried to explain it, but made zero sense. He ranked Murray ahead of booker because booker wasn’t efficient enough as a scorer, even though he’s significantly more efficient than Murray with way higher degree of difficulty. Booker puts up bigger numbers more efficiently. There is no conceivable way to come to the conclusion that Murray is better. I think he defended it by saying he was ranking them as prospects...which I guess just means you can pick the guy you like better and just say he’ll be better someday.

“You have to play all 48 minutes” is an odd expression for a game that came to the end of OT. Gotta play all 53.
Unless you’re AD. Whatever.

Thanks guys for the history on the guy and what happened tonight with him. The guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about but thinks he needs to share his uninformed opinion.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 10:40 pmOne of them came on a suns podcast and tried to explain it, but made zero sense. Great question, reporter! Uh... make more? Practice free throw shooting? Get better free throw shooting players? I wish he asked Pop that question. He would have been evicerated. To Gentry’s credit, he just answered it like it was a legit question.

“Coach, a lot of missed free throws tonight. How do you fix that?”

Bender’s D has been a really nice complement to Ayton. If he were hitting his 3s with any consistency he’d actually be a pretty valuable piece. He’s definitely gotten more aggressive with attacking the basket.
Maybe next year is the one he puts the shooting and attacking together at the same time. I wouldn’t mind offering him a low-priced contract to find out.

7-18 in his last ten games. I’m just going to go ahead and assume this is the new normal and he’s now a 39% 3-point shooter.
I won’t make that assumption come contract time, but for now what the hell.

I know its weird, but I would love to sign bender to a cheap (5 million), long term (4 year) contract. I think he will turn into a really nice role player that does pretty close to what we want the PF spot to do. Im not saying I see him as a starting PF, but as a really helpful backup.
