Booker could easily drop 6 himself, if he has the ball as much as he used to. 5 assists would be good for Booker if we are moving the ball and other are passing, and 2 assists would be good for a rookie center. But they are certainly capable of much more.
All of those numbers are good but not shocking. 50/18/9 would be a more optimistic prediction.

I wouldn't be surprised if one day they both hit 30 points or even 40 points a piece in a game. Might be some time down the line, even years, but I could actually envision it happening.Indy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 10:59 amWell lets just aim for 60/20/10 then.O_Gardino wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 6:35 amIt really does, and that's not just the high from last night. Ya, my bad. 8.6
Re: 2018-2019 NBA season predictions
Pretty close. What's your prediction for next year? Ayton is sure to improve on all stats I imagine.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA season predictions
When I made that prediction, I actually thought it was a low bar. I thought we would run a lot more O through Ayton and that Booker's shooting would improve with someone else to pull defenders.
I'm not sure how much room Ayton has for improvement. In Igor's system, the offence goes through the wings. And Ayton doesn't play a physical enough game to draw fouls and box out like he could. I guess Ayton could work on his physical/mental stamina and stay on the court longer.

For me, that is by far the most important thing for him to do this summer. He needs to be in much better shape. You see how winded he looks so quickly into games/stints.O_Gardino wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 6:13 amWhen I made that prediction, I actually thought it was a low bar. For Booker, he needs to work on his body. He puts his body through a lot of trauma, and if he doesn't strengthen it, he will keep missing +20 games a year for little injuries here and there.
Re: 2018-2019 NBA season predictions
I agree with this. I think it's universally believed that with a good pg on the team, Ayton will get more touches in places he can score more often. I also think he got winded a little too quickly, but he was also bullied a little bit by some of the vets. He is gifted genetically and I think he can get a lot stronger this year. I really want to see him draw more fouls and score through contact this next year, not avoid contact by taking uncontested shots or turnaround jumpers every time. I want to see him get Gobert or any other big in foul trouble and run off the floor. I do think he will continue to improve his jumper and the percentages he scores. I would also like to see him go and dominate the boards physically, box out when needed, and basically own the paint.Indy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 6:59 amFor me, that is by far the most important thing for him to do this summer. Re: 2018-2019 NBA season predictions
That takes a lot of energy, and right now he just doesn't have it. He needs to spend all summer sprinting 84 feet, hitting a push sled and backing it down to the baseline, then sprinting to the other side to do the same thing. Over and over and over.I would also like to see him go and dominate the boards physically, box out when needed, and basically own the paint.
I think he was so used to dominating by just being there, he never really had to work on these things.
Re: 2018-2019 NBA season predictions
You're probably right about that. Get to work, Deandre! We need you to come back much better.Indy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 8:50 amThat takes a lot of energy, and right now he just doesn't have it. Re: 2018-2019 NBA season predictions
I think a lot of that is why he has such empty stats this year. If you are only dominating when the game doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. You need to dominate when everyone is giving it their all, and the game is on the line.In2ition wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:07 amYou're probably right about that. Get to work, Deandre! Re: 2018-2019 NBA season predictions
By the way, does anyone know how to look up our point differential by quarter? I would assume that 4th quarter is our best (we were usually down 20 so the other team wasn't doing too much), and the 2nd quarter was our worst--seems like we regularly were in the game until the 2nd quarter.
But that is all subjective, so I wanted to look it up.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA season predictions
Yeah we only saw that sporadically and occasionally. Like OT against the Magic, he dominated that OT and carried the Suns to the win.Indy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:10 amI think a lot of that is why he has such empty stats this year. So I couldn't find an easy way to do it, but I was able to get the data:Indy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:13 amBy the way, does anyone know how to look up our point differential by quarter? 4th 2163 2333 -170

2OT 10 10 0

I don't have any splits, but might work on them later to look at different parts of the season, or different player availability.
