I had a shit-eating grin the whole time. Also if the Mercury win the championship what does that make it? 3 WNBA championships? I am not really sure.Superbone wrote:I liked the half court shot to end the third.Cap wrote:Taurasi's personal 13-0 run to break the game open was awesome.

Hornacek Purchases Seats For Fans to WNBA Finals Game
I really appreciate what Hornacek is doing. This is now the Phoenix Mercury appreciation appreciation appreciation thread.PHOENIX - Phoenix Suns Head Coach Jeff Hornacek has joined the city’s swell of support for the 2014 Western Conference Champion Phoenix Mercury by purchasing upper level seats at US Airways Center for Game 1 of the 2014 WNBA Finals against the Chicago Sky on Sunday, September 7 at 12:30 p.m. Several thousand seats are available on a first come, first served basis starting at 9:30 a.m. on game day on the US Airways Center Plaza.
“This is a championship series,” said Coach Hornacek. “After witnessing the amazing crowd in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, I wanted to show my support for this team and provide Phoenix residents the opportunity to cheer on the Mercury from all areas of the arena.”
Fans may claim up to 4 tickets per person beginning Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. until tip-off (12:30 p.m.) while supplies last.
Lower-level tickets are still available for purchase, starting at $35. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 602.252.WNBA or logging on to PhoenixMercury.com.
The Mercury—looking for their third WNBA Championship in franchise history and first since 2009—advanced to the WNBA Finals for the fourth time in franchise history. The Mercury clinched homecourt advantage throughout the WNBA Playoffs thanks to a WNBA-record 29 regular season wins.
That homecourt advantage is thanks in part to the X-Factor who helped the Mercury to a franchise-best 16-1 (.941) record at US Airways Center this regular season (19-1 including playoffs) and a current 18-game home winning streak.

Wow, what a surgical dismantling in game one. Chicago has no chance without a healthy Delle Donne.

Perhaps the best offensive team ever in the WNBA? The Mercury may have pushed the ball a bit better when Cappie Pondexter was on the team, but every member of this starting five is a threat to score 20 every night. And Griner's post game keeps improving ...

I agree with this. It's nice to see how much she's grown into her game since last season. I thought they were going to be much better than they were last year. It took another year to get Taylor healed, a growth on the defensive and offensive end by Griner and a better coaching philosophy by the new coach that's really put them out in front of the WNBA. They could be even better next season, and keep growing with Griner's improvements.LazarusLong wrote:Perhaps the best offensive team ever in the WNBA?
