I really like Clarke. I wouldn't have a problem if we kept our pick at #6 and drafted him. Just watching Gonzaga games, looking more at highlights recently, I just think he would fit in really well here.

If Clarke is our guy, we should take him at 6 rather than trade down and count on him to be there. You only trade down if you have multiple options you like at the lower pick.

Agreed

I'm all for getting your guy but right now I don't think he's sniffing the top 10 in terms of projections.

Offseason news but also draft related as ATL's been mentioned as a potential trade partner to move back.

Who's projections are you looking at?

NBADraft.net - 20th
CBSSports- 14th
SI/The Crossover- 23rd
Yahoo - 14th
NBCSports - 17th (to the Nets before they traded the pick obv)

Fansided and the The Ringer have him 11th which is the highest I've seen. But mid teens to 20s is where I've seen him most. Maybe he rises with some good workouts but I see an undersized hustle player with a small wingspan. Wouldn't reach for him at 6.

I honestly wouldn't go by most of those. The Ringer is the closest, imo. Those other ones are pretty far off. I understand why you've bought into why they have him that low, but it's crap, imo. His production is outrageous for it to be that low.

Zion, JA, RJ, Cam, Culver, Garland, White, Hunter...after that it could be Hayes, Doumbouya, Washington, Little, Hachimura.

I also watched him this year and see a 23 year old hustle player with not much offensive game and poor shooting mechanics. I think he got a lot off on college teams where players are smaller and less athletic (similar to Josh Jackson). You can point to all the stats you want in college, it's about what he'll do in the NBA. You like him, fine. I think taking him 6th is a big reach at this point.

Do you like those guys for the Suns or are you just projecting that they should go higher than Clarke?

He also did pretty well against a stacked Duke team and just about every team he played. He was arguably the 2nd best player in college basketball last year, and he's only 22, not 23. Comparing his production to Josh Jackson's seem odd to me. They really weren't all that close.

You're right. Heck, idk, he could be available at 17 or later. I have no idea what the Suns or any other team is really thinking.

After giving it a lot of thought, I've decided that I feel confident drafting whoever INF wants to draft at number 6.
