Yeah, the Suns need a PG that can relieve Booker. That's done by being able to create for themselves and others, and allows Booker to play off the ball for a lot of the time, since he does a great job coming off screens, cutting backdoor, and drawing the defense away.
Booker should not be used as a bloody point guard!

Ah, the good ol' days. The Suns were pretty darn good and I just crossed over into my 30s.
At this point I’d settle for the Image days.

I don't think anyone is surprised by this. It's pretty rare to see deals done between the end of the Finals and the start of the draft. Even the Lakers/NO deal hasn't been finalized.

My guess is we get a 2nd rounder and a player we don't want for each of them. TJ's would be for an expiring, and JJ for a contract with more years than his. Bleh.

Hmm, I’m a little more optimistic. I think warren could fetch a 1st while still clearing cap space.

Jackson isn’t bringing back an asset, but I think someone would take a chance on him without requiring us to take back salary.

If we’re taking back salary on either, we shouldn’t be trading them. Unless that salary is actually a good player.

I'm going the extremely optimistic route and hoping we trade JJ and #6 to Atlanta for #8 and #10.

We still have to take back money, right? It isn't like we can give someone Josh for 56 or TJ for 42, right?

If they have cap space, we don’t need to take back any money. The trade would have to be done come July 6th though. No teams have the cap space now to absorb them.

Would be a disappointing return for Warren. Kinda expected for Jackson. But if we clear them without taking back salary and then have 28 million to spend this off season, it’s worth it.

Not if we spend the 27.5 on D'lo. Isn't that what his max starts at?

Only if we A) actually spend it and B) spend it wisely.

I do think it's time to move on from Warren and Jackson. But if we begin the offseason by trading both of them, haven't we just handed a ton of leverage to Kelly Oubre to ask for a huge contract? He'd be our only experienced SF and the only one we could really start.

I would assume things are in a good enough place with Oubre that we can risk moving both. And if Oubre tries to get more money then let him walk. We still have Bridges and like I've said a million times, SFs are a dime a dozen.

Just removing Jackson is enough to fix the logjam. Oubre-Bridges are SF/SG tweeners, not PFs. Warren has actually spent time at PF. If you draft/sign a real stretch big, you are done with the rotation at SG-SF-PF. Then all you need is a PG.

Plain dumping Warren is going to be a mistake. I am ok using him in a trade for something tangible, but don't trust the FO to have someone who can move the needle lined up to use the extra $11M in cap space created by such a move, although I imagine there is a small chance Dinwiddie would be made available for said space plus say MIL pick.

Oubre and Bridges are SFs. Warren isn't a PF, doesn't rebound or defend and tends to only play 50 games a year. Nice player, decent deal, but again - a dime a dozen player. There's no market for him. Move him and reallocate his money to someone who can help us where we need it. Hell, we can probably sign RHJ to a minimum deal at the end of July if we need depth.
