Let's put a pin in that for now. He's a legendary competitor and if he's never made the finals by then he may opt out to spend his last couple years somewhere else. Weirder things have happened. Not saying you're wrong. I have no idea. I certainly wouldn't turn it down though. Lol!

He would probably just negotiate a buyout during the final season, and then sign with a contender.carey wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 4:51 pmLet's put a pin in that for now. Yep, after he has collected half that salary already in the final year, get paid another half of what's left, and end up with close to the full amount anyway, and picking the team he wants to play for.JeremyG wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 5:05 pmHe would probably just negotiate a buyout during the final season, and then sign with a contender.carey wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 4:51 pmLet's put a pin in that for now. Also sending Detroit #30. Bucks save about 1.5 million in salary this year, but the. Leur expires and snell has another year
Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Looks like Paul haters can breathe easily if this turns out true.

Wolves win that one
Re: Around the League: The Off-season
They couldn’t find a way to throw John Wall in there?
Re: Around the League: The Off-season
LOL at the Rockets if they do that trade.

Luckily, those are all players I’ve heard associated with us and our pick.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 7:56 pmFiveThirtyEight rates the draft prospects:

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Wiggins to HOU where the Rockets unload Paul has crossed my mind. It sounds crazy at first, but they need to do something about their chemistry if they want to remain contenders, and since GSW is down, they should do all they can to find Harden a second guy who can try to do something with the ball in his hands. Doesn't need to be an allstar, just a guy who can give them some one on one/midrange when all those threes are clanking late in a playoff game.
Granted, Wiggins at the (regular) max is still a very though pill to swallow considering he has one more year than Paul, but realistically what can you expect to get in a CP3 trade? No taker is going to send HOU real cap relief or a clear difference maker (if Morey achieved that in a trade he'd be instant candidate for GMOTY). The best they can hope is to break Paul's contract into several smaller bad deals, like SAC did when they traded Webber to PHI. Or they can take a chance on a talent and hope he clicks just enough.
HOU is in an interesting predicament for sure.

Call me crazy, but I think Wiggins can be a great D'Antoni player.
Not great enough to justify his contract, but I think he'd look much better than he has in Minnesota.

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
I agree that would be a good pairing. But Horford is an aging role player. You could see it in the playoffs. He has maybe 2 years left of effective play. And he was making $30 million a year. That is outrageous. Signing him to a 4 year deal is essentially a guarantee of having huge amounts of dead money in years 3 & 4 of that deal.specialsauce wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 11:47 pmI don’t know. I’d love to get Horford here to pair with Ayton.
