They can go sign a max guy if they want, think it’s a mistake though. They’d literally have 4 players and have to fill the rest of the team with 1 room exception guy and 8 minimum guys. They need to spend that 32 million on 3-4 guys, use the room exception then its only 5 minimum guys.

If the Lakers get Leonard, and the Nets get Kyrie and KD, then the Suns might be the only team left that’s been mentioned as a DLo destination who can easily get to max space.

Pacers, but I think D-Lo would pick us

At that point though, wouldn't the smart move be to NOT offer a max contract? I just don't think Russell is a max player. He's pretty good, but I don't want our two max players to be him and Booker, with Ayton on the way. Make him a good, fair, offer that allows the team to sign another higher tier player. If there are limited options for him, we shouldn't bid against ourselves.

Maybe, my guess is Indiana might get involved or a surprise team if lakers and nets are out. Celtics or Mavs could be interested and I’d guess someone offers the max, so we’d probably have to as well.

I’d guess their trade with Washington combined with AD waiving his trade kicker, which now means they have 32 million in space. Enough for the 7-9 year max(Kawhi, Kyrie, Kemba, Klay group)

Maybe you're right. Is this a philosophy of yours?

It might be better to go for a couple culture guys like Beverly and Thad Young to go with Tyler and Oubre. Then, you could still have flexibility to possibly make a trade at the deadline or let their salary fall off. Idk right now, but it seems like it's going to be hard to get DLo without getting rid of something that you really want to keep.

Yes was referring to the above although I still find it funny that people believe Pelinka has some master plan. I will stay believing that the roster will be flawed and as is always the case, Bron's supporting cast gonna be getting roasted come the new year

Let's sure hope so. Really hope they sign Carmelo.

Looks like Celtics are getting Kemba. I doubt Mavs would go after him when they have Doncic.

It would probably be between the Pacers and Suns, if we want him.

Didn’t he leave them on kind of bad terms?

I don't think there is any way Russell ends up back in LA. He left in shame after ratting out one of his teammates for misbehavior on social media.

What do the Hornets do here? All they have now is a solid chance at the #1 pick.

I bet we could pawn Josh Jackson and Melton/Okobo on THAT team. They're down two point guards and should be looking to tank. Thing about Josh is - he's either going to turn the corner this year, or he'll burn your court to the ground. Michael Jordan should want this guy.

Problem is, ain't nobody on their team I even want to fleece. I like Tyler Johnson more than Kidd-Gilchrist or Marvin Williams. I suppose we could offer Jackson, Okobo and Johnson for MKG or Williams if we need the $$$.... which it sure sounds like we might.

Q: Would you rather pay Oubre $20 million or DAR the max?

The Charlotte thing isn't terrible. I would send those 3 out for MKG or Williams and either could give depth at PF. I don't think it would cut into Bridges' minutes and Cam's still an unknown.

What would you send for Kemba in a S&T. I know it's not rumored but curious what you'd give up.

If Kemba wasn't a FA and said he wanted to come here (like AD to the Lakers) - I'd give up Tyler, Bridges and our 1st next year. That'd be the core of the deal. They can have Jackson, Melton, Okobo and some other future picks. I'd try and get some protection on next year's if I could. But that's all we really have to give up in a trade.

You mean where we would acquire Kemba? But he has no interest in coming here, and he's a free agent anyway, not a guy you would acquire in a trade this offseason. What's the point of theorizing about trading for Kemba? If we had any chance at him, we would have heard something by now.
