Sources confirm renewed contract talks between Eric Bledsoe and Suns

The Suns brass and the Eric Bledsoe camp are negotiating again.
That, in itself, is major progress.
League sources confirmed that there have been renewed contract talks between Suns executives and Bledose's representatives since the weekend. Yahoo! also reported that the progress was significant enough that a deal could be in place by the start of training camp.
There could be resolution as early as the end of business Wednesday.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

We worked out arrangements for Zoran and are wanting to wrap up the offseason. Bledsoe has budged from his max deal stance.
Still not a done deal. They want a player option year 4. And came back with 4/54.

That counter is very reasonable. Now. Was this that hard? This could have been done a month ago. It would have saved us all about 1000 message board posts.
I will say this. Our front office has nerves of steel-very patient.

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]
This is pretty much how the process works for RFA if there's not outside offers to give them incentive to get a deal ironed out earlier.
The Oct 1 deadline for accepting the QO was the only real carrot for getting something accomplished.
And we end up getting all sorts of crazy reports (like the interest from Minnesota) in the meantime.

If a long-term deal happens, all the mishegas this summer will quickly be forgotten by all but the likes of us. All that will matter to normal people is whether he plays up to whatever contract he ends up getting.

Fingers crossed - would it be too much to hope that he axed his agent in the process?Cap wrote:If a long-term deal happens, all the mishegas this summer will quickly be forgotten by all but the likes of us. That would be such a strong move. And it would absolutely help EB to mend fences with the community and fans. Unfortunately, we all know it's not happening.

C'mon Bledsoe, take the money and let's roll!

I propose a posting fast. No more posts on this thread until we get word on an actual contract agreement.Xylus wrote:C'mon Bledsoe, take the money and let's roll!

Wow JC, you really love you some Bledsoe, don't you?
I'm glad you and Xylus are going to get what you wanted.

You don't want him on the team at all, or just not at that price? And did the feeling change from end of the season to now?INFORMER wrote:Wow JC, you really love you some Bledsoe, don't you?

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]
It's been pretty clear since shortly into this past season that INF would rather Bledsoe be somewhere else.Indy wrote:You don't want him on the team at all, or just not at that price? After this off-season, frankly, I was almost in the same boat.....

Thanks Swing. Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]
His health concerns me greatly. Unfortunately this is not like the NFL where we could just cut him if he gets injured again, the contract will be guaranteed and is reported to be in the 50+ million dollar range for 4 years. I don't like the fact that we are going to be tying up that type of money in a player that I don't think will be getting us over the hump.
Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]
That's a fair take. I am more concerned that we can't have 25-30 million locked up in 2 PGs (assuming we sign Goran to a similar deal next year).
Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]
To be clear, when I said getting us over the hump I mean winning a championship.
