It shouldn't be that surprising. Rozier excelled as a starter and struggled as a starter. But he demonstrated terrific 2-way ability. I know everyone freaked out at how much he got paid; and let me be clear, I'm not wishing the Suns gave him that deal. I was bewildered at the time, though, at how many people championed the Rubio contract as being so much better than Charlotte's deal with Rozier.
Free Agency
DeMar Derozan for the minimum!

PG: Jordan McLaughlin, Killian Hayes, Kris Dunn, Spencer Dinwiddie, Monte Morris
C: Mo Bamba, Andre Drummond, James Wiseman, Goga Bitadze, Jay Huff

Something I would never have considered 2 months ago: Terry Rozier may have been a better signing than Ricky Rubio.
Hmmm, not sure about that. Rozier is ok. I wasn’t as opposed to him as most were. He can shoot a bit(shooting quite well this year so far from 3) and can handle the ball and run an offense ok. I think we’d miss rubio’s passing though. I’m not entirely sure how Rozier is defensively, but Rubio hasn’t been great there. Rozier just feels like a 3rd guard to me. They even start Devonte Graham next to him in Charlotte.

I wonder if Minnesota would be interested in bringing back Ricky Rubio. I would love to swap him for Jeff Teague, and then be able to go into the offseason shedding Teague's, TJ's, and Kaminsky's salaries, giving us possibly $36 million in cap space.
And do what with the cap space?
See if there is a team who wants to give us a young player who averages 17 ppg, shoots 50% FG and 40% 3PTs, is on a reasonable deal and include a second pick. And all we send back is cash considerations.
Warren could win 5 MVPs and id still be happy we sent him on his way. One of the least enjoyable players to watch.
I agree. I was glad to be done with him. He was one dimensional.

And could never be counted on to be in the line-up. What were those injuries again?

A quick question: What happened to Swingman? Why isn't he around anymore?

I think Al Horford makes more sense than Kevin Love for the Suns. His contract is awful too, though not as bad as Love's. While Love fills up the stat sheet more so than Horford, I trust Horford to have more of a winning impact on a team.

Philly gets: Ricky Rubio, Dario Saric, Aron Baynes, Mikal Bridges
Suns get: Al Horford, Zhaire Smith, Jonah Bolden, Trey Burke, and 2 2nd round picks
Free Agency
DeMar Derozan for the minimum!

PG: Jordan McLaughlin, Killian Hayes, Kris Dunn, Spencer Dinwiddie, Monte Morris

I think that's a bit much. Rubio is a poor shooter, but he is a positive contributor to our team and he makes other players better. I don't think Rozier would be a net positive for us.

Swingy was temporarily banned in mid-2016 for some squabbles he was involved in. He was later unbanned but I believe he refused to return to the site. Last I heard he frequented some other Suns site(s) such as AZ Pro Sports or Reddit or some places like that. I like the guy a lot, and if he wants to be here, his presence would be more than welcome. Wherever he is these days, I hope he's doing well.

Thanks for the answer. I liked his take and he is a fellow Buckeye Hawk. We went to high school together, but I really didn't know him in school(different crowds).

Pass. I like Horford but not the rest of that package, not for all that the Suns are giving up. Those second round picks aren’t worth two farts

I have no desire to have Warren back.

I like that Indiana was a playoff team, got another team to pay them to make them better, and are still winning team even without their star player. Conversely, the Suns were an abysmal team, that paid another team to take a good player away, so that they could pour premium resources into mediocre players to be less abysmal. So yeah. Yay.
They definitely didn’t use their assets efficiently to put this team together.
Agreed

Everybody is talking like Rubio has been this big liability. He hasn't been.

All stats have their issues, not least +/-, but it’s safe to say Rubio isn’t the problem.

INF is really the only one who's talked about trading Rubio often.

I've made comments about his shooting woes, but I'm willing to stomach that in favor of most PGs available around the league.

It's just a matter of time before he's back in the starting lineup. Obviously, he's the starter and Baynes is the back up.
