Game Day: Clippers (38-19) @ Suns (24-34), Wed 2/26/20

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET)
Place: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: FSAZ, NBALP

We've got a tough one tonight back at home. The Clippers are back to full strength with some key additions while the Suns will be missing starter and all-around pretty boy, Kelly Oubre Jr.

Go Suns!!!

We did beat them once this year. We are capable of taking the wind out of their sails...

The Suns are playing fairly well right now, but missing Oubre hurts.

I was just looking at the West standings, and while we're 13th out of 15 (oof), we are only 1.5 games behind the #9 seed, Portland. The top 8 teams seem to have separated themselves a bit, with 3 games between #8 Memphis and #9 Portland, but after that it's a tight cluster in spots 9-13. Kind of interesting. You have to wonder when teams are going to start resting players and quietly trying to slide a few spots down those standings. I like seeing our guys give it their all, but the chances of us getting a playoff spot are essentially gone, so I don't mind if they rest some of the vets like Rubio if they need it.

This sounds very concerning:

Next thing you know Oubre will go in for a simple procedure and end up with a microfrafture.

I don't know if you guys noticed but Coach seemed to have a vestigial being growing out of his knee in that video.

The social media vibe is that We’ve seen the last of Kelly on the court this year and there will be an announcement shortly. Hope it’s misinformed.

"social media vibe"?! That's a lot of detail for a vibe.

Best believe the Clippers remember their loss in the third game of the season against the Suns. This could get ugly.

This is bad bad bad. Monty saying they’re getting opinions, Rubio wearing his practice jersey, it has to be a season ender. I would agree with the guesses about a meniscus. How and when did he hurt himself? Just really sucks

I know when my meniscus went, there was no particular event that happened. Just noticed the next day that something wasn't right. It was months before I got it diagnosed correctly. The first idiot just did an xray.

It’s a vibe 8-) It’s more of a when there’s smoke there’s fire vibe. It’s like a “Hey, off the record, Kelly’s knee is fucked. But on the record, we’re just treating an undisclosed knee injury and taking it one day at a time” type vibe

Ayton always seems to play way better without Oubre.

DominAyton! Huge block on Morris. Already with 10 points.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Playing like a franchise player. Though he’s been playing that way for a while now. Love it.

We look great so far.
