Because the ball moves better sans Kelly. Not that I am happy about his injury, but I do think you’ll see an uptick in Aytons touches.

It's still surprising and exciting to me how effortlessly Ayton gets off the ground. He looks like he could play on a 12ft rim the way he elevates.
Suns look pretty good on both sides of the ball, 3s are falling and we're sharp on rotations. Also noticed we're doing a better job of closing out on 3s without fouling, not running at the shooter but running to the spot next to the shooter. Seems just as effective without the risk of any contact.

Amazing how inept we are at taking advantage of Ayton in the post.

I can't tell if Ayton has bad hands catching the ball off the bounce or if the passes haven't been great but I've counted about 3 or 4 fumbled passes for turnovers.

And yet somehow he has officially been credited with 0 turnovers

Yea and the spacing hasn't been great and the Clips' defense has been collapsing and helping/swiping. Gotta clean it up tho. I know Amar'e had some trouble catching Nash's passes early on so hoping it's just him getting used to catching PnR bounce passes now instead of just lobs or entry passes.specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:11 pmSo frustrating. Some have been at his knees. Others just fumbles

Another good start to a 3rd qtr. Hanging tough, good defense. Ayton with a lob layup, Book with a tough pullup bankshot and Dario with a runner in the lane. TO Clips.

This officiating is worse than the Jazz game. Just bullshit calls every possession

Ayton needs to touch the ball every single time down the court right now

Totally out of sync after the challenge. They're knocking down 3s, we can't run a play. I don't get posting up in the middle of the lane. It's always a horrible angle, yet it's our go-to.

The 2nd unit came in and played well defensively, Clips went cold but we just couldn't score. Probably could've taken the lead if we'd have scored on all those possessions during those last 3 minutes or so. Dario's missed some critical 3s, Book too.

Dario missed a 3, then an open floater Booker set up. Dude is just such a disappointment.

Rubio is walking the ball up the court like we’re up 10 with 40 seconds left. Push the fucking ball dude!!!!!!!! Jesus Christ. He just wants to sleepwalk out there. Back to his usual mediocre ass self.

Fuck these idiots. How many times are we going to go down and avoid giving our dominant 7ft center the ball? 8 possessions now in a row. I'm done. Meanwhile we have no problem launching off balance shots and 3's.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

There's my answer. Back to back possessions, Ayton can't get it done.

Those aren't good possessions for Ayton. He's not in the right position to score and forced those shots because he's not getting any others.
For all his shortcomings, Jevon Carter brings that helter skelter, unpredictable play that can break us out of a funk. He's a sparkplug that way.

Carter had some good minutes there.
This is our last chance here down the stretch. Still in it but need to score some points in a hurry.
If I see Ricky walk the ball up the court I’m going to stroke out.
Nobody but DA has played well offensively tonight.
