If that is true, then that is an indictment on the Booker/Ayton combo, and possibly Monty as a coach.

I'm honestly at a low point as a fan of the Phoenix Suns. That two game stretch was brutal and the guys didn't show much, if any heart.

I'm glad you took that the way it was intended. Things are bad, man. Definitely a low point for this season, that's for sure.

Was the loss of Oubre really that disheartening? And if it was, what does that say about our team?

Bone, this is what I have been saying. This isn't a good team. Jimmy Jones still has A LOT of work to do.

Re: Game Day: Warriors (12-47) @ Suns (24-36), Sat 2/29/20
I don't think it was so disheartening that we've given up, but he's the only "spark" guy on the team. He's a high motor guy who can make plays at any time because of his energy and athleticism. We don't have anyone else like on the roster. Everyone else - Rubio, Book, Bridges, Cam - are more deliberate, less athletic. Carter brings the energy but is limited by his size and role.
Re: Game Day: Warriors (12-47) @ Suns (24-36), Sat 2/29/20
I agree that athleticism is missing from this roster and that is a problem. Jones seems to avoid athletes from what we've seen so far. I mean, we've been on the other side of it with athleticism and no talent but we need some players in between.ShelC wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 3:10 pmI don't think it was so disheartening that we've given up, but he's the only "spark" guy on the team. We don't need players in between, we need a GM that can be "in between." Ryan seemed to only have eyes for teenagers; Jimmy Jones only has eyes for 25-year old seniors.
Enough with the idiotic, arbitrary viewpoints to roster-building. Sometimes, the best move is going to be to acquire a raw, high-upside prospect. Sometimes the best move is to go after a prospect in his early 20s with some years overseas or in collegiate play. Sometimes you go for the jump-out-of-the-gym guy; sometimes you go with the fundamentally sound prospect. You have to be open to it all.

I agree with most of that but I've had enough of the athletes with little to no basketball IQ. In other words, we need basketball players rather than athletes. But we do need some athleticism!INFORMER wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 3:44 pmWe don't need players in between, we need a GM that can be "in between." This was the moment in our season where I’m officially more interested in our off season than our in season. Lasted through February this year, so that’s progress. Time to start looking at draft prospects, though I’m afraid JJ is just gonna trade the pick anyways .
Re: Game Day: Warriors (12-47) @ Suns (24-36), Sat 2/29/20
Yeah. I think we all knew that which is why we were so shocked he didn't make a move at the deadline. Even getting a small asset for TyJo would have helped instead of just waiving him after the deadline.
Go Suns!

I don’t think anyone would have giving up an asset for Tyler Johnson. He’s free now and still no one has picked him up.

And I’m not sure it’s the wrong move.
Re: Game Day: Warriors (12-47) @ Suns (24-36), Sat 2/29/20
It could be, we just can’t afford to move picks and lose value anymore. I wasn’t thrilled with our lack of attention to value last summer, but I understood JJ needed to clear house. We can’t do that again, we just don’t have the talent base in our core to do that.Shabazz wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 6:16 pmI’d bet on it.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 4:04 pmThis was the moment in our season where I’m officially more interested in our off season than our in season. My dream scenario is we land the #1 pick and trade down, add a piece that can contribute for us and still pick someone in the lottery. Something like #1 to Chicago for Markkanen and #6. Then draft Halliburton or Hayes.

Bradley Beal is doing to the Ws tonight what I would've liked to see Book do to them last night.
Re: Game Day: Warriors (12-47) @ Suns (24-36), Sat 2/29/20
Beal is doing that to everyone
Re: Game Day: Warriors (12-47) @ Suns (24-36), Sat 2/29/20
Definitely a low point for sure. Like EJ said, they looked like they were playing in mud. I am not ready to indict the team yet though. It was a back to back after a tough loss. Obviously the Warriors came with a crapload of energy and motivation. Bender and Chriss wanted to get revenge. Yes, they were short handed and had no business winning this game but, they did.
I don’t know what the deal is with the Suns. We know Booker can play. Ayton has been on a tear. Bridges has started to find his shot. They were just completely out hustled. Whatever the reason, they didn’t bring it. The way I see it, they owe us a win against a great team.
