I've been banging this drum for a minute, but if we keep Saric and Baynes we need some athletes.

You mean we don't want to keep watching our entire front court put up soft shots that get blocked at the rim (or even by the rim)?

Put another way, a roster with only one player that dunks (and chooses to lay it in softly for some reason).

Or put another way--a player with Amare's athleticism and Diaw's aggressiveness.

I've seen both Cam and Mikal show flashes of athleticism and aggressiveness at the basket. Cam in particular has surprised me a few times.

yeah - we have a few guys, Booker included, who have sneaky athleticism. But no one who pops off the page.

I don't agree that the Suns must add athleticism. This team is on the edge of contending for the WCF. They need basketball players before athletes now.

We still need a good understudy...Chris isn't know for ruggedness...and we can still use a PF...I hope we have enough on the SF side at this point, as we're giving up Kelly...else we made a need and on a way we regressed, though I think that is the net assumption..m

Can't put them in the Lakers/Clippers/Nuggets group before playing a game. I don't know about the Rockets. They have big problems all of a sudden.
Go Suns!

Ya I agree there. Athleticism is important, but tell me where the lack of it is hurting us. Can we not match up with athletic wings? I think Bridges does really well here. Perhaps our transition game will suffer a bit, but with CP3/Booker, we should have a lethal half court offense. Bridges/Johnson are great cutters. If our guys play smart and hustle, I don’t see a problem athletically.

Don’t forget Ayton is dripping with athleticism. Him getting up and down the court quick will be a problem for teams. They have to respect his rim run which leaves trailers to get open from 3.

Strong emphasis on "edge" in my statement. I'm expecting the Suns to be in the second tier of the West by the time the first game is tipped off.

The Rockets are cooked. They're entering the Sarver experience. OKC will be on the playoff fringe.

Tier 1: Lakers, Warriors, Nuggets (WCF is the expectation)
Tier 2: Clippers, Jazz, Mavs, Blazers, Suns (Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the WCF)
Tier 3: Grizzlies, Thunder, Pelicans, Spurs, Timberwolves (Fighting for the final playoff seeds)
Tier 4: WTF? Who cares, it's no longer the Suns.

Flex really overuses the exclamation point! It’s like reading a damn Trump tweet!

PF and backup PF/C need athleticism for sure. Cam is a credible PF in limited minutes, but we can't play him there full time.

Woods, Ibaka and even Millsap at his age are all better athletes than Saric and all are actual basketball players as well. Grant too, although more of an athlete than the others.

If there is a way to add one of those FAs instead of Saric, we better do it.

Yeah, I think we need athleticism up front. Some nights guys like Bazely and Holmes would just kill us. Ideally, whoever we get is also smart, but we could def use someone to counter the pure hustle guys.

I'd have no problem trading back for a later lotto pick and a late 1st or early 2nd if it meant getting a young athletic big and still getting a guy we're targeting.
