I am surprised that nobody else remembers him from last season. Sorry to bring up some of these bad clips from the Pre-Bubble Suns but this game when Trae carved us up in the pick n roll all night immediately came to mind when I saw his name because he was a beneficiary and watching that game I was like "even this Jones guy scoring  " lol
he's just gonna be an end of the bench guy in case we need a big body some nights but just looking back at this game against us. screen for Trae (CP3) roll and dunk, at least he seems to have this down if called on

video redacted
Perfect reference, bajan. Jones can play, at least on that end of the court. If Monty teaches him some defense, he will be a valuable role player in limited minutes

Plus he is the perfect guy for Ayton to guard in practice. Ayton can get timid around guys who are physical and show more aggression, especially if he's not expecting it. I hope Jones takes him to school in practice so that Ayton gets used to these kind of players.
Rishaun didn’t change DA. Not sure why a less talented player would.

Yay, Dario is returning! Everything is looking good for the new season. Glad he decided to come back, and that's a pretty fair contract.

Considering what others were getting, I think it’s a reasonable deal. Hope all these three year deals have team options on the third year

I don’t think we’re using the bi-annual. We’ll save it for next year. We’ve got 11-12 guys right now that I think will expect to get to play. We can always use the bi-annual if someone gets bought out later. Or just save it for next season.

Bring him back...unless we’ve kinda determined he’s not an nba player. But we don’t really have any developmental guys

That's what I think as well. Everybody left is either getting more than that or they aren't worth it.

Happy to see Dario back! That should do it in terms of impact signings, maybe another vet here or there but I really like where we sit. I think some Suns Twitter guys were saying we had the space for Baynes and Dario. Interested to see why we wouldn't bring both back considering the Raps got Baynes for 7mil which I consider a bargain. Maybe they liked Saric's versatility more as a backup 4/5 and figured Smith will take leftover 4/5 minutes. Maybe Baynes like the opportunity to start in Toronto....who knows. Gambo said Saric was a priority and maintained Baynes wouldn't be back.

Yep, someone like Reggie Jackson or Shabazz Napier might be looking for that contract, but I think we made our choice in the backcourt with E’Twaun Moore. He’s not a pg, but I think you can start him in a backcourt with Booker if CP3 needs a rest day.

As of the time of this writing, about there are a lot of unrestricted guys from our '16-'18 squads still on the market.

Any interest in:
Len
Markief
Harrison
Knight
Daniels
Dudley
Jenkins
Chandler
Bender
Crawford
Josh Gray

No, you say?

I think we just don’t have minutes for him. I do think we found something with Saric as the backup 5. Then we drafted a backup 5 as well. Loved Baynes, but I don’t actually think he would’ve re-signed here even if we wanted him. Not after we drafted Smith.

At the minimum I wouldn’t be upset with really any of them. Excluding Markieff. I’d see 0 point for Len, Chandler. I don’t think Gray, Jenkins, or Bender are nba players. Knight would be weird. Crawford and Dudley would make more sense as a coach.

That leaves Daniels and Harrison. I like Harrison, but we have no room for him. Daniels is fine as a 13th man to dust off every 5 games as a shooter, but we don’t need him.

So I do say no...and yes I know I took that question more seriously than you were asking, haha

Some of those guys are old, and Morris just hasn't signed yet. But it's crazy how many guys STARTED for us in the last 3 or 4 years who nobody even wants at the minimum. It's also crazy that Jackson has an NBA contract.

Jesus, I probably left out half of the starting PGs we've used including Ulis.

The Saric deal is a bargain. We're getting him for his prime years. It's also a very tradeable contract and we could use some of those.

Unless these deals have team options in year 3, we seem to have pivoted away from cap space in 2022.
That is what I was thinking, too. I can't wait to see the details of year 3 for him and Carter. Anyone else get 3 years?

Crowder did. Maybe we’ll bring back CP3 for a 3rd year..

Does feel like to me if we want to make a big move, moving Deandre would be the way to do it. Let’s hope he balls out enough that there is no reason to make a big move.

A few more random notes about Moore

Back in 2007 he squared off in the state finals against Eric Gordon’s team. Moore’s team won and he out scored Gordon 28-25 on a bad ankle.

His nickname is Smooge which was given to him by his mother. Just don’t look up the meaning on Urban Dictionary.
