Game Day: Suns (9-8) @ Mavericks (8-11), Sat, 1/30/2021
Time: 7:00 pm AZ (6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET)
Place: American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX
TV: FSAZ, NBALP
Suns go on the road tonight and will be looking to build off last game. The Mavs are struggling at the moment and have lost 4 in a row prompting Luka to say in the post game last night that the team is playing like they don't care. Will that trigger a response ?
We all know how the board gets when we play Luka (hopefully Mikal not taken out the game on BS calls) but we've actually won the last four matchups. Their D isn't good and we should be able to execute against them. As most have said we played faster last game, again we just need to be consistent and would be nice to avoid another 2nd quarter disaster.
Book, Dario and Cam are still OUT and I don't expect any changes to the starters. It's a given Nader will get his minutes and deservedly so IMO but the backup guards will be the rotation to watch. Is Jevon back tonight as we've used him on Luka last couple matchups and he's done a decent job harassing him, what happens with Gallo/Moore and if Frank is $$ again that will be something cause no secret that we need our unheralded bench guys to impact the game whoever is called on.
Go Suns!!!

Luka and the Mavericks strategy is to go at and get Ayton in early foul trouble. Luka singlehandedly got half the Suns in foul trouble last time. It would we nice is we were able to return the favor.

I don't know what the bookies are saying, but I would assume Dallas by 4. I will be watching hoping for a huge upset!

I just looked. Dallas by 1. That is pretty good considering they are at home. We can do it!

I feel pretty good about it as good as we looked in the last one and as bad as Dallas looked last night. However, there's the danger of Dallas trying to right themselves and we're still missing a bunch of players. We've had Dallas' number during the Doncic years thus far but let's see what happens tonight. How does Ayton perform against Porzingis? Are they even matched up against each other?

He's "questionable" as far as what I've seen.

We might be better off if he plays

The Suns have played better against better teams and gotten beaten most by teams they should have beaten. The Suns should be up for this knowing it’s Dallas, away and they are shorthanded.

This is the perfect “get right” game for Dallas with so many key players missing for us. A near must win for Dallas, to be honest.
But I am feeling good vibes on this, Suns win.

To be honest this is one we should win. It will come down to foul calls and if the refs take Luka's junk out of their mouths long enough to actually officiate the game properly.
I caught most of their game against the jazz. They looked bad but most teams have against the jazz lately. The main thing is their D sucks and they rely on Luka for almost everything on O. Porzingis got in foul trouble so they were even softer inside. If they go at our bigs, I say we go at theirs and generally keep up the greater amount of drives we attempted last game. If we play up to our ability on D then we should pull this one out, but theres every chance the mavs start getting calls and we fixate on that instead. I wonder if a zone is best because they almost enritely rely on Luka's penetration, theres not many other creators on that team.
I really hope we win to get some form of momentum going.
Its going to be a Luka & CP3 dribble pound and bitch fest tonight!
