Oh fitting that CP shout out the 2nd unit and also kudos to him for taking it up a level when re-entering the game knowing they gave him and the starters a chance to close it out

Watched this one on delay. Fun fourth quarter to watch. CP3 and DA played exactly how we need and should expect. Fast, decisive, aggressive. That was the most encouraging part of the game. Not sure how much of that was us and how much was the Mavs just being terrible, but I liked it. Great fourth Q

Another good recap from CP, DA and Monty
Might just be a coincidence but here's Paul telling Ayton to hustle upcourt against the Ws, then the 2nd video is Ayton in an all out sprint up the court against the Mavs

I noticed Book in the background when I was watching and was like assistants or someone need to tell him not to get so excited, why he jumping around on his hammy.
I now realize he only hops on the right leg but still.......

Furlanfufi covered it. The team played well with Moore as the backup PG because he initiated the .5 and there was good ball and player movement. I don't remember any lazy shots from him this game. The shots he did take were very good looks off of movement and taking advantage of gaps in the defense, including a nice post up.AmareIsGod wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 11:01 pmWhat am I missing? I only have a box score but 4 points and nothing much else out of Moore sure has folks impressed tonight.O_Gardino wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 10:15 pmThis was Moore's best game as a Sun. Nader and Galloway continue to do their thing. Gallo getting fouled on a 3 is a treat I look forward to every time he plays. CP3 played well tonight. And Bridges ignited that comeback in the 3rd.
I'm looking forward to the rematch on Monday.

Is much more effective than having Carter on the floor jacking up bad shots. And I like Carter.

They've been bailing him out all year. They should be giving him the shout out for finally keeping up!bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 6:25 amOh fitting that CP shout out the 2nd unit and also kudos to him for taking it up a level when re-entering the game knowing they gave him and the starters a chance to close it out
One of the best things Monty brings is that the second unit is coached up and ready to play. The Spurs used to kill us with with some no-name bench guy coming in and just playing smart. We are that team now, minus the dominant starters.

The whole thing. The first half was back-and-forth, but there were some nice moments. Or skip the first 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter if you want to avoid some gray hairs. I enjoyed watching the bench climb back in.

I’ll watch it all, was kinda following along on gamecast, so looking forward to see the bench bring us back

I think the 0.5 offense is better for bench units/role players who maybe don't have as much individual talent to make plays on their own. It instead puts the pressure on the defense to stay with the cutters and guys working off screens for an entire possession. As long as you have the high IQ skill guys to run it, it's effective. That's why the starters maybe get bogged down trying to do too much on their own, overdribbling, looking for their individual offense or 2man game which lets the overall defense relax and just watch.

Nah, you need that pain of the start of the 2nd half to fully enjoy the 2nd unit comeback and then subsequent take over to finish the game.

Shaq will like that.Deandre Ayton said the shoulder was a tough one but he's good. Shouted out IcyHot.
Also, good to hear some Al McCoy in that highlight tweet. It's been a while!

Ayton’s energy often comes and goes depending on the quarter, not just the game.
Good thing for us he brought great energy in the 4th last night.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

When everyone is healthy, I don’t see a spot for Moore in the rotation assuming we go 10 deep. Based on merit, the rotation should be:
CP/Payne
Book/Gallo
Bridges/Nader
Crowder/Johnson
Ayton/Saric
That leaves Jalen, Frank, Moore, Carter and Jones as the deep bench.

That’s a deep team. Would really love Smith to come on so they can move Cam Johnson to be the backup SF and have smith be the PF.Shabazz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 2:05 pmWhen everyone is healthy, I don’t see a spot for Moore in the rotation assuming we go 10 deep. Come playoff time, there will only be 8 guys playing. That seems pretty set with our starting 5 and then Payne, Johnson, Saric.
Re: Game Day: Suns (9-8) @ Mavericks (8-11), Sat, 1/30/2021
I don't see that happening. Monty is barely giving him time choosing to go (probably rightfully) with Frank atm. When Saric comes back he moves Frank to the bench with still no time for Jalen. I know he had a major setback with Covid so it's possible he's just not had enough time with the team. Short training camp & preseason then out with an injury then with Covid.jonh wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 2:23 pmThat’s a deep team.
