Amazing that a center with as much talent as Cousins is shooting 46% for his career.
Of course that talent stops at his neck.

I must say, I was really surprised that the Celtics crushed Brooklyn. Stevens even played his three bulldogs(Bradley, Smart, Rondo) together for a few minutes and they looked great on defense. I really like their centers too(tough Zeller, finesse Olynyk), I think they will be fighting maybe even for a playoff spot this season.

Too many lazy midrange shots and too much juggling when he penetrates. The Bobster wrote:Amazing that a center with as much talent as Cousins is shooting 46% for his career.

It feels like Sacramento really goofed up their offseason letting IT3 walk and appeasing the always mercurial DeMarcus Boogie Cousins. I like Cousins' game but I would be terrified of letting him boss around my small-market team. It just feels like he'll need to leave that place to really succeed; he seems like a guy who will need to play with some other stabilizing alpha dog star like a Lebron etc. to be successful.
Re: Around the League: Week 1 10/27-11/2
It's strange. I listened to the Boogie Cousins podcast with Simmons a few months back. He made it clear it was Sacramento's decision all the way and he didn't know why they didn't want him back. But then you see those comments about the ball moving much better and not sticking... you know exactly who they are directed it. I feel like he's speaking out of both sides of his mouth if you know what i mean.Mori Chu wrote:It feels like Sacramento really goofed up their offseason letting IT3 walk and appeasing the always mercurial DeMarcus Boogie Cousins. Cousins doesn't strike me as the savviest guy out there. I'm sure he was just repeating what the organization was saying. Malone probably wanted a more traditional PG but didn't have one better than Thomas and wouldn't commit to Thomas and his style unless maybe he was willing to come off the bench. I think a bench scoring role is the best role for him but he needed to leave Sacramento to accept it.

T-Rob got two minutes tonight, a few days after his option was declined. Team FOE could be assembled on the cheap, methinks. He's not the right fit, though. What we need to complete our rotation imo is a guy who can play 4/5, taking the best minutes from Plum, Tolliver, Shav.

Apropos of nothing, Jusuf Nurkic may end up being one of the 5 best players from the '14 draft. I wonder if we'd taken him at 14 if Warren would've still been there at 18.

If you think thats bad, check out how many times the Lakers are on TNT. Its like they thought they'd be a contender or somethingINFORMER wrote:And do we really have to see the Knicks TWICE in the first week of national tv coverage? Gross.

Yup. Made it a priority to grab Bosh in my fantasy draft. Think he returns to his toronto numbers with added threes now.

So Brandon Jennings is already upset by Stan Van Gundy only using him 20mins last night.

Anyone watching Knicks give the Cavs all they can handle right now? They are up 6 with 6 minutes left. The Cavs defense has been awful in the 4th and they aren't hitting shots.

Mavs are beating Utah by 21, behind 21 from Dirk who has only played 23 minutes and 6 other guys in double figures.

I love seeing Quincy Acy being a contributor at the NBA level. Really liked him at Baylor.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23 ... n-D-LeagueFree agent forward Robert Covington and the Philadelphia 76ers progressed toward finalizing a multi-year contract this week, but a deal has deteriorated as the two sides failed to agree upon contract length, league sources told RealGM.
Without an NBA deal, Covington is expected to sign a contract in the NBA Development League on Thursday, where several organizations plan to monitor the 6-foot-9 forward. The 76ers had offered Covington their standard, four-year proposal, with high contract guarantees, and both sides couldn’t agree to a shorter-term deal.
I think this is so stupid. I get the Hinkie wants to get a guy on the cheap for as long as possible, but he's already been in the for a year and he turns 4 in December. He reasonably probably doesn't want to be stuck making minimal money nearly until his 28th birthday. Just give the guy a shorter deal and stop insisting on getting over on a player. Ugh, I just ate nearly everything that Hinkie is doing.
On the other hand, Hinkie did bring in Malcolm Thomas (very good pickup IMO) and traded for Marquis Teague on the cheap. I'm not really a fan of Teague, but it's the kind of move someone in Hinkie's position should be looking to make.

Clippers hold off the no Durant,Westbrook,Jackson, morrow, lamb thunder, 93-90. I only caught the end, but perry jones fills in and drops a 32/7/3 line and looked pretty good. And Ibaka has sure extended that range. I knew he was great from the mid range, but he was coming off screens and drilling 3's from the top of the key and looked smooth doing it.

can OKC still make the playoffs without russ and durant missing significant time?
