It's pretty amazing what Lebron is still doing at his age. He is probably the "GOAT" if your metric is sustained excellence of play over so many years, rivaled only by Kareem IMO. I still prefer Jordan due to his will to win and his championship success over the entire '90s, but MJ wouldn't have done what Lebron is doing to keep his health at its peak for so long. MJ went out to party and smoke and gamble, and though MJ did have productive years even into his 40s, he wasn't working incessantly to maintain his health at the level Lebron is clearly doing.
MJ retired a couple months after turning 40. And I wouldn't call either year in Washington "productive." He scored 20 ppg, but he took 20 shots to do it. The year he turned 40 he scored less ppg than Shawn Marion, and took more shots to do it.

Is there a market for Blake Griffin?

If you want a PF who shoots 35%, sure.

They certainly weren't productive for Michael Jordan, but he was still a pretty good player.

Considering that Vucevic had taken over the Center spot in Orlando, and how stagnant Mo Bamba development turned out, would the Magic be willing to trade him?

We could use that size and athleticism behind Ayton, complementary to Saric and stop depending on Frank. Send them Stix as the main piece, either TyShon or Nader as an enticer and Jones to clear our roster. For them, is a 3x1 trade to bring fresh bodies onboard and a do over with Stix over Mo. No draft compensation please, as we are sending two assets (even if minor) for a shot at squeezing that potential.

Vucevic/Gordon / Austin/ Stix is a more balanced frontcourt rotation. Same with a Ayton / Crowder / Saric / Mamba / Frank on our side, putting Cam as a full time SF

He wouldn't shoot 35% with CP3 feeding him.

But, is there bad blood there?

At vet min, is he a good pick up in a year of COVID (think Tim Thomas)? Is he better than Kaminsky? Saric?

Hell no I wouldn't trade for him. But pick him up off a buy out when he's looking for a contender that needs help at PF?

Hmmm....

That is a good point. It is hard to compare his older self to his younger self. I guess he was productive in the general sense, but if his name wasn't MJ and played the way he did, I don't think people would call him a top 20-30 player that year.

Uh, no. And there's no comparison to Tim Thomas, who was 28, still could flush an impressive jam, and shot 43% from the arc in his short, memorable stint with the Suns. Blake has no dunks so far this season, and shooting about 31% from deep. He looks spent.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

And he's funny too!

For the record, I don't think there is any bad blood between the two. Griffin had nice things to say to Rankin before the season started about Paul.

Lebron's longevity is the most amazing thing to me
No surprise that he continues to astound as he was naturally a physical specimen and now making the necessary monetary investment in his health

As for the immediate situation, I think as with the bubble run that AD's growth/dominance was the key so as great as Bron is playing I think Lakers gonna struggle some in these games til the break.
If I'm being bold, and choose to look ahead....
It might even be setting up for us to close on them rapidly especially as we play them in this stretch :o

LeBron is the GOAT. Plain and simple.
Jordan reached a level of dominance that I don't think Lebron ever will. LeBron will have the better career numbers because of phenomenal longevity and more diversification to his game, but I still don't think it matches the height of Jordan's career.

Here is my old man/get-off-my-lawn rant for the evening: I really hate NBA jerseys these days. I hate that every team has like 8 different jerseys, and I hate how too many teams essentially have the same design/concept that the Suns do with their Valley alternate jerseys. End of rant.

And I hate that so many teams have jerseys in other color schemes. The Mavs are not green or gold, thank you very much.
