They are going to have to figure out how to handle the Kaminsky onslaught.

Blazers always scare me because of Dame and they're 18-11 without CJ and Nurk. Kanter can have a big double double if Ayton isn't putting a body on him. Melo can kill from midrange and Trent's been hot from 3. Hoping we give Dame multiple looks with CP, Mikal, Moore, Payne, even Jae and just wear him out.

Hmm, do you trap Dame on the pick n roll? Force the ball out of his hands and make someone else beat us?

We need to make sure it isn't close with 2 minutes left. Dame time is real.

Few concerns:
• Seems like we are due to have a let down shooting night after our recent hot shooting streak
• wouldn’t surprise me if Gary Trent jr. is unreal from 3 today, like he hits 9/12 on 3s or some shit.
• Look for Dame getting both Mikal and Ayton in fouls trouble in critical stretches.
But...
felling good vibes about this, Suns win.

I always like to pop up the team stats before we play a new opponent. Blazers have some interesting numbers.
Dame is averaging a full 30 ppg and CJ averages 26.7. Their third-leading scorer? Gary Trent Jr. with 15.4.
Their best 3pt shooters are Trent Jr and CJ both around 44%.
Kanter leads them in rebounding with 11, followed by Nurkic with 7.7.
Dame leads them in assists with about 8 followed by CJ with 5.
I hadn't realized they have Derrick Jones Jr. on their roster. He's averaging 7.8 ppg for them. Rooting for that guy; always liked him. Also, oof, Robert Covington is averaging only 7.7 ppg; that has to be a disappointment for them. Rodney Hood only 4.8 ppg. Melo is scoring 13.1 on only 39% fg.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

CJ and Nurk are hurt...so it’s really just Dame and Trent. Simons and Melo can score at times. Covington and Jones Jr. are there for defense.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 11:57 amI always like to pop up the team stats before we play a new opponent. Blazers have some interesting numbers.

Kaminsky starting again... I guess you throw him on whoever is less likely to screen for Dame...do not want Frank trying to defend a Dame pick n roll. Jones Jr I guess.

Let's see if Ayton can keep Kanter off the offensive boards.

Yes this is true
Blazers lineup is smaller/more athletic than the other ones we used Frank against so let's see

Book taking it to Lillard in the post
Re: Game Day: Blazers (18-11) @ Suns (19-10), Mon 2/22/21
Real good start on both ends. We're dictating a lot of things, with Book going to work in the post methodically. Good stops on defense, DA's been very good.
