Around the League: Week 11 3/1-3/7
Re: Around the League: Week 11 3/1-3/7
Apparently there was a terrible call towards the end of regulation...Jazz fans are going crazy about the refs...I hope to catch a replay of the end somewhere.

At least the game was basically over when Mitchell was kicked.

It looked bad at first. It was a loose ball going out of bounds that appeared to be saved by O'Neal. It would've won the game for the Jazz.
The problem was the broadcast replays didn't show the angle of the ball hitting the official before O'Neal attempted to save it. So the correct call was initially made and confirmed in a review.

Ya I just saw it...they explained the call on the sixers broadcast. Game was in Philly though, so I’d imagine that’s why the Jazz broadcast didn’t get an explanation and the Jazz fans were pissed.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 7:51 pmIt looked bad at first. Except it cost his team the game.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 7:46 pmJazz lost to the Sixers. Mitchell was ejected in OT in a similar fashion as Booker.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

They had already lost when he got thrown out. Were down 5 with 30 seconds left.

Pretty sure it was 3. Oh, it was 3 for the first tech and FT which made it 4.

Sounds like he’s going to get fined for his postgame comments too.

Half the Jazz team is gonna get fined. Mitchell for sure...probably Gobert and maybe Conley and Quin Snyder too.

The Suns broadcast is so much better. It sounds like the TNT are watching the game on delay and only have one angle. They really can't tell what's happening.

I saw that Inside the NBA segment where they had to explain basic P&R offense to Shaq. It was clear that Shaq hasn't bothered to notice the major changes to the game since he played. It was kind of embarrassing, honestly. Shaq and Barkley are both guilty of this, but Barkley manages to do it in a lovable way.
I have often said that I think Inside the NBA has never been the same since they got Shaq. It's kind of like the concept where an NBA team can have one knucklehead, but if you get two, everything falls apart. A studio show can have one silly member who shoots from the hip and doesn't always know what he's talking about. But if 2/4 of your crew are that way, it's hard to have a serious show. I have never like Shaq's fit with the others in that crew. I think it would have been much better to develop a second show where Shaq was "the Barkley" of a different group, perhaps with a Gary Payton or Steve Smith or some other player as the "Kenny Smith", and whomever as the lead host guy. I've seen them put Shaq on NBA TV in such a role and thought it went pretty well. Alas.
It does kind of feel like Inside has run dry and needs to be shaken up. It would probably be good for the show if they turned over most of their crew and let some new people have a shot at it. Candace Owens did a great job the other night; it would be great to have somebody like her on the air. But it's really hard to replicate the chemistry those guys have had; a lot of the people they bring in are stiff and uninteresting.

Shaq does the Tuesday show with a different crew. Just leave him there and replace him on Thursday. And I think you mean Candace Parker, Mori.

Even for someone like me who isn't in the US, I immediately caught that. Was funny to picture lol
