So if you are getting most of your support and funding from the masses, you do things to support them. Like making voting more accessible. Like making healthcare more accessible. Like using tax money to support the masses.

If you get most of your money from a very select few people, you do what you can to support those people. Getting rid of estate taxes. Getting rid of higher income taxes. Why are you closing polling places, shutting down voting on Sundays (when blacks often go vote after church), removing early voting, removing mail-in voting, restricting absentee voting, blocking all kinds of people from voting for frivolous reasons? If it's BS, can you point me to any efforts your party has made to help ensure widespread and fair access to the ballot box?

You mentioned "most rank-and-file Republican voters" and I don't think anyone that I know that falls into that category want to restrict anyone other than those that aren't legal eligible to vote. So yeah, it's total f'n BS slander. It shouldn't be that hard to fix voting laws, so that's free, fair, available, transparent, and secure, not ones that are open to fraud. They shouldn't block anyone for frivolous reasons or restrict access to anyone that's registered to vote.

That's like saying that your party pushes the least secure and most open to fraud by eliminating signature verification on mail in ballots, eliminating verification of voters period so that anyone can vote no matter if even eligible or how many times they vote, open it up to ballot harvesting and buying and bribing of voters of votes, open the machines to cyber attacks, to not allow audits of adjudicated ballots, to adjudicate all ballots, and open it to really anything that can be easily manipulated and exploited nefariously.

Four months after the November 3, 2020 presidential election, state and county officials in Georgia have failed to produce chain of custody documents for an estimated 404,691 vote by mail absentee ballots deposited in drop boxes and subsequently delivered to county registrars for counting.

As of March 3, only 56 of Georgia’s 159 counties have provided ballot transfer form data to The Georgia Star News. The number of absentee by mail ballots delivered to registrars in those 56 counties total only 195,309, or 32.5 percent, of the estimated 600,000 absentee vote by mail ballots deposited in drop boxes and delivered to county registrars and counted in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election.

In other words, there is no chain of custody for 67.5 percent – an estimated 404,691 – of the estimated 600,000 absentee vote by mail ballots deposited in drop boxes and delivered to county registrars and counted in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election.

The 2020 presidential election outcome in Georgia was decided by fewer than 12,000 votes – about three percent of the 404,000 absentee vote by mail ballots deposited in drop boxes and delivered to county registrars where they were counted.

Georgia county officials have made little progress in the two months since The Star News reported on January 3 that 28 counties had provided ballot transform forms documenting 140,628 vote by mail ballots deposited in drop boxes.

In the two months between January 3 and March 3, 28 additional counties responded, adding ballot transfer form documentation for an additional 54,719 ballots, bringing the total vote by mail ballots deposited in drop boxes for which their is a chain of custody from 140,628 to 195,329.

Fulton County is one of 35 scofflaw counties in Georgia that have failed to comply with the Georgia Open Records Law and provide The Star News with absentee ballot drop box transfer forms they were required to maintain under the Emergency Rule passed by the Georgia State Election Board in July of 2020.

33 scofflaw counties simply failed to respond at all the The Star News Open Records Request:

Baldwin, Bibb, Brantley, Bryan, Chatham, Clay, Clayton, Dodge, Dooly, Evans, Franklin, Glynn, Houston, Jefferson, Johnson, Lamar, Lanier, Liberty, Long, Monroe, Muscogee, Newton, Pulaski, Richmond (Augusta), Sumter, Tift, Toombs, Troup, Turner, Union, Upson, Wayne, and Wilkes.

Two scofflaw counties responded to The Star News by saying they did not know if they had responsive documents, and would follow up when they determined if they in fact had responsive documents, but never provided that follow up or any documents.

Fulton County responded by saying they don’t know if they have documents responsive to the open records request and told The Star News they would send forms after Inauguration Day. However no documents have been provided to date.

DeKalb County told The Star News they were unsure if responsive documents existed. Then on December 17, DeKalb County provided documents that were not responsive to the Open Records Request. Instead of providing ballot transfer forms that provided chain of custody records for the movement of ballots from drop boxes to registrars, they provided documents that showed the movement of boxes of absentee ballots from registrars to centralized tabulation areas.

In December, Fulton County officials told The Star News, “We believe we can have responsive records to you by January 19, 2021. That said, should responsive materials come available sooner, we will provide them to you.”

The Star News has received no further communication from Fulton County election officials.

As The Star News reported, the Fulton County Board of Elections voted to fire Fulton County Elections Director Richard Barron last month, but the Fulton County Board of Commissioners refused to either accept or reject the decision of the Board of Elections. Barron remains in his job for the time being.

The other counties in Georgia have responded to the records request with either chain of custody documentation or other communications.

A total of 33 counties have responded by stating they did not have any drop box locations. Those counties include:

Atkinson, Ben Hill, Burke, Candler, Charlton, Chattooga, Clinch, Columbia, Dade, Effingham, Emanuel, Glascock, Greene, Habersham, Hancock, Haralson, Heard, Jenkins, Macon, Montgomery, Meriwether, Miller, Randolph, Seminole, Stewart, Taliaferro, Treutlen, Twiggs, Warren, Washington, Webster, Wilcox, Wilkinson.

An additional eight counties – Appling, Chatahoochee, Floyd, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Jeff Davis, Madison and Thomas – have told The Star News they will make their ballot transfer form records available to the public upon the payment of a processing fee.

Seventeen counties have acknowledged the open records request but have not produced documentation include Bacon, Banks, Calhoun, Camden, Dawson, Early, Grady, Henry, Irwin, Jackson, Jasper, Pickens, Putnam, Morgan, Rockdale, Taylor, and Wheeler.

One county – Laurens County – is sending forms via mail.

Six counties have ballot transfer forms but, for various reasons have not been able to deliver them to The Star News.

Hart County has said it will fax their forms, but they have not yet been received. Brooks County, Lee County and Echols County have forms held at their County Clerk’s office for retention. Jones County and Marion County have their documents kept “off-site.”

Two counties provided indeterminate responses.

Worth County told The Star News, “nothing in this chapter shall require agencies to produce records in response to a request if such records did not exist at the time of the request.”

Carroll County told The Star News it does not have “any documents responsive” to the request in their “possession or control.”

One county – Coffee – sent documents that failed to list the numbers of ballots collected at the ballot drop box locations in that county.

In December, The Star News analyzed the ballot transfer forms provided by Cobb County in response to the Open Records Request and concluded that 78 percent of the 89,860 absentee vote by mail ballots deposited in drop boxes in the county were not transported to the county registrar “immediately” as the Emergency Election Code Rule required.

As The Star News reported, an estimated 600,000 absentee by mail ballots were delivered by drop box in the November 3 presidential election, while an estimated 700,000 absentee ballots by mail were delivered through the United States Postal Service.

The Emergency Rule required that every county election office maintain a ballot transfer form that documented the movement of every absentee by mail ballot placed in a drop box and delivered to the county registrar prior to the election, with the number of absentee ballots picked up from each drop box, the signature of the two person team who picked up the ballots, the time of the pickup, and the time of the delivery of those ballot to the registrar, and the name of registrar who received those ballots.

A month after the 2020 general election, The Star News filed open records requests with all 159 counties requesting copies of absentee ballot transfer forms. The forms are documents used to account for absentee ballots left in drop boxes in locations across the state.

From December 3 – 11, The Star News submitted separate Open Records Requests to all 159 counties in the state that said:

I am submitting the following Open Records Request to you today;

Please provide copies of all ballot transfer forms used in the county in the November 3 election to document the chain of custody for all absentee ballots placed in drop boxes by voters and transported to the county registrar, as required in the Election Code Emergency Rule passed by the State Election Board on July 1, 2020.

The Open Records Request laws in Georgia state that counties have three days to respond to the request.

According to the Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia:

The Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. 50-18-70 et. seq., requires a response to an open records request within three business days pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71(b)(1)(A). There is no accommodation for an unavailable open records officer, so PAC recommends that there be more than one person in an agency who is capable of responding if the designated Open Records Officer is unavailable.

If the response is to deny all or part of the requested records, pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71(d), the initial response must cite the exemption by the exact code section, subsection, and paragraph which allows the decision to not disclose the requested records. Failure to do so could result in a waiver of the exemption and a requirement of production of the records.

An agency should always strive to be transparent and provide access to public records without undue delay. However, the Open Records Act does not require an agency to engage in the creation or customization of records just to be responsive. Therefore, pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71(j), an agency is not required to prepare a report, summary, or compilation of records or data that did not already exist at the time an open records request was made.

Now, more than 80 days after the first open records requests were issued, 37 of Georgia’s counties have failed to provide any documentation that would produce the evidence of the lawful collection and accounting for the general election’s estimated 600,000 absentee vote by mail ballots deposited in drop boxes.

In all, chain of custody documents for more than two-thirds – 67.5 percent – 404, 691, of the total 600,000 votes cast via drop boxes have not been provided by county officials.

Throughout the state, approximately 300 drop boxes were used to collect absentee ballots in the November 2020 election. The drop boxes were made possible, in part, by donations to the counties from the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) – a 501 (c) (3) funded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan.

Zuckerberg made a $350 million donation to the CTCL 2020 election efforts. More than $24 million of CTCL funding was distributed to Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb, and DeKalb counties alone.

The drop boxes were authorized under Georgia Election Code Emergency Rule 183-1-14-0.8-.14 approved by the State Election Board in July 2020 (but notably not approved in a statute passed by the Georgia General Assembly, which states that every absentee ballot drop box collection team “shall complete and sign a ballot transfer form upon removing the ballots from the drop box, which shall include the date, time, location and number of ballots.”

In the wake of the controversial November election, Georgia lawmakers have moved to disallow Zuckerberg-style private funding of election administration, among other reforms.

See, this is it in a nutshell. You claim you want free and fair elections, but once voting comes up, all you want talk about is the "voter fraud" boogeyman and ways to restrict voting. What about how there was only 1 ballot box in all of Harris County, TX, with millions of people in it? That seem like a problem? Why are you so eager to chase down "chain of custody" crap when there's no evidence of fraud there, but nary a word about millions of people waiting in long lines, polling places being closed, hours reduced, etc.? You don't want people to have easy and fair access to the ballot box. You want to restrict, prevent, obstruct. That's the Republican way. And it's un-American.

As far as evidence, there is a mountain of evidence, but you don't want to look at it, and the courts just state...."no standing" or some other BS. Besides, you have to have a chain of custody to those ballots for security. What don't you understand about that? If you don't, you could just assume that they have been compromised.

Officials on Wednesday said two Paterson city councilmen were indicted on voting fraud charges stemming from the alleged mishandling of mail-in ballots in the city’s May 2020 election, a case used in former President Donald Trump’s failed effort to stop widespread vote-by-mail in the state.

Michael Jackson, 49, who represents the city’s First Ward, and Alex Mendez, 45, a Third Ward councilman, face charges, including election fraud, fraud in casting mail-in vote, tampering with public records and unauthorized possession of ballots, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office announced. Both men were initially charged in June after they won a race for seats on the city’s governing body.

Voter fraud claims soon emerged in the election, and state investigators launched a probe after hundreds of mail-in ballots were discovered in a mailbox in Paterson and nearby Haledon, officials said.

The allegations largely relate to rules around voters’ ability to designate a “bearer” of their ballot - meaning a person who could deliver a ballot for the voter - and the handling of mail-in ballots.

Paterson held its local election by mail amid concerns about the coronavirus pandemic last year. A lawsuit filed the Republican National Committee and Trump’s campaign cited the allegations in Paterson as a danger of using expanded mail-in voting. A federal judge dismissed that suit, noting anti-fraud features in elections. The Paterson criminal case gained attention among supporters of the former president, who argued voting by mail would lead to fraud. Ultimately, election experts and authorities said the presidential race was secure.

“These indictments are an important step in our prosecution of these two sitting city councilmen on charges including second-degree election fraud,” Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said in a statement. “As we have seen all too clearly in recent months, public confidence in our democratic process is critical. If anyone tampers with an election in New Jersey and threatens that process, we will hold them accountable.”

State law mandates that a bearer may collect and deliver ballots for no more than three voters in an election, and a candidate is barred from acting as a bearer. Prosecutors alleged the council members collected ballots from voters and brought them to the county election office.

Other allegations in the case include that mail-in ballots were delivered without identifying the bearer, and that a voter registration application was submitted for an individual not eligible to vote in the district listed on the form, according to prosecutors.

“New Jersey’s criminal code includes various indictable offenses related to election fraud and, in particular, fraud involving mail-in ballots,” said Thomas Eicher, director of the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity & Accountability, which is handling the case. “With these indictments, we’re using those laws for their intended purpose— defending free and fair elections by prosecuting those accused of seeking to undermine them.”

Two other men - Shelim Khalique, 52, of Wayne, and Abu Razyen, 23, of Prospect Park - were also charged last year with mail-in vote fraud in the case. Those charges are pending, officials said.

Jackson and Mendez, the council members, continue to hold their elected offices in the state’s third largest city. A judge initially stopped Mendez from taking office before he won a new election last fall.

“My client has maintained his innocence through out this process and will enter a plea of not guilty to the charges and will continue to serve the citizens of Paterson,” Mendez’s lawyer, Paul Brickfield, of Brickfield & Donahue, said in an email Wednesday night.

An attorney for Jackson, Theodore Kyles, said he could not immediately comment on the allegations.

Notary Arrested, Charged With Voter Fraud In Connection With Aberdeen Alderman Election

In the sixty-four-page order, Judge Jeff Weill not only calls for a new election but also finds evidence of fraud and criminal activity, in how absentee ballots were handled, how votes were counted, and the actions by some at the polling place.

In his ruling, the judge said that sixty-six of eighty-four absentee ballots cast in the June runoff were not valid and should never have been counted. Nicholas Holliday was declared the winner by a 37 vote margin. Robert Devaull challenged the results in court.

Judge Weill found many irregularities with absentee ballots. He issued a bench warrant for notary Dallas Jones, who notarized absentee ballots. During a hearing, Jones admitted violating notary duties.

“When you have an absentee ballot, there’s an envelope, you vote, fold the ballot, put it in an envelope, lick the flap, sign across the flap, then notary signs your election certificate, she testified that she didn’t sign in front of anybody, didn’t see anybody sign it, she just notarized it, just stamped them,” said Lydia Quarles, attorney for Robert Devaull.

In fact, Jones testified that she was called to the home of then Alderwoman Lady Garth in June to correct her father’s absentee ballot paperwork. While there, Jones testified she notarized “about 30 something ballots.”

The judge also found that 83 regular ballots were counted without being initialed by election workers.

Judge Weill also said there was clear evidence of voter intimidation and harassment at the polling place on election day. State law says candidates and supporters must stay at least 150 feet away from the polling place. In his ruling, the judge said Holliday, along with Police Chief Henry Randle, and former Mayor Maurice Howard acted as if they were above the law, repeatedly violating criminal statutes.

Devaull is hopeful the judge’s order for a new election will mean a fair contest for the Ward 1 seat.

“It was always a lot of distraction in Ward 1, that’s what I said earlier, I would like to see, going forward, that be cleaned up, people being able to come and go, vote for who they want to,” Devaull said.

Aldermen meet Tuesday. They are expected to set a new election for Ward 1 during that meeting.

Notary Dallas Jones has been released on bond.

inconsistent with testimony of the witnesses and reflect more of the “copied and pasted”
sentiments of the Defendant than what the record from the proceedings would affirm.
While left disappointed with these findings, we will explore all the legal remedies
afforded to Mr. Holliday under the law including but not limited to a request for the Court to
reconsider its findings; a judgment notwithstanding the verdict or new trial; or the appellate
process.
We are very concerned with the mass disenfranchising of voters, who never testified
or subpoenaed to Court; poll workers conduct was attacked, but never listed in name, nor
called to testify. There are serious legal and ethical implications from the ruling that we are
compelled to explore. We know that this verdict does not reflect the sentiments of the majority
of voters of Aberdeen and will seek relief where the law and circumstances allow.

HONDO, Texas (WOAI/KABB) An area Justice of the Peace has been arrested and accused of election fraud, along with three other people.

Medina County, Texas Justice of the Peace Tomas Ramirez was arrested Feb. 11 after a Bandera Grand Jury indicted him and three others two days prior.

Ramirez, a Republican, is facing one count of organized election fraud, one count of assisting voter voting ballot by mail and 17 counts of unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope.

Leonor Rivas Garza, Eva Ann Martinez and Mary Balderrama were also arrested.

Garza is facing one charge of organized election fraud, two counts of illegal voting, eight counts of unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope, two counts of election fraud and four counts of fraudulent use of an absentee ballot by mail.

Martinez is facing one count of organized election fraud, nine counts of illegal voting, 28 counts of unlawful possession of ballot or ballot envelope, three counts of purportedly acting as an agent, five counts of tampering with government record, 14 counts of election fraud and four counts of fraudulent mail ballot application.

Meanwhile, Balderrama is facing one count of organized election fraud, nine counts of illegal voting, two counts of unlawful possession of ballot or ballot envelope, one count of mail ballot application, two counts of unlawfully assisting voter voting by mail, two counts of tampering with government record, eight counts of election fraud.

The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office tells us all charges stem from an Attorney General investigation. We reached out to the AG’s office, but have not yet heard back.

We have confirmed Ramirez has been suspended after the arrest.

A San Antonio campaign employee accused of interfering as an elderly woman filled out her absentee ballot had rows of gift bags that matched the one she gave the woman, according to arrest warrants.

Raquel Rodriguez was arrested on Jan. 13 and charged with four felonies, including election fraud and illegal voting, by the state attorney general's office. She was released from the Kendall County Jail, northwest of San Antonio, the following day on bonds totaling $60,000.
