As I said in the other thread I'm still in Denver. I'll edit the thread with the usual info when I get back to my laptop tomorrow.

Per Coro, " D-League affiliate Bakersfield's camp roster includes #Suns preseason players Earl Barron, Joe Jackson, Casey Prather and Jamil Wilson."

"Hornacek said Tucker will come off the bench for #SunsAtLakers due to 2-1 success with Marcus Morris starting and due to Tucker's time off."

Any word on TJ? Sounds like this will be an extended finger injury recovery because of roster overcrowding.

Last I heard, he might be available as early as this week. He had fractured his left thumb. I haven't heard anything recently though.

While watching the World Series of Poker on ESPN I learned that Earl is a big time poker player. Apparently he cashed in 4 events this year.

David Aldridge ranks and comments on the Suns:
14) Phoenix (2-1) [13]: Isaiah Thomas does dribble a lot, but he is as close to unguardable with today's rules as any player in the league.

As part of the Suns' staff postseason player reviews in late April, Marcus Morris said he received criticism for his defense.

"I took it as disrespect," Morris said.

Then, like a Netflix binge viewer, he watched video of his play last season. He could no longer disagree. He saw that his stance was too upright and that his alertness and on-ball defense was lacking. He vowed to change his effort and did not need to wait until training camp to start earning the starting small-forward job that he has held for the first four games.

I like it! I've really noticed the difference this season. It makes that contract extension more palatable.

I am not spending enough time on the board right now to know if this has been posted already - so I am sorry if it has been - if not, happy listening people ...

Speaking f Len's potential, I wonder if he could learn to hit from three. It's clear we miss Channing.

Markieff Morris, through 5 games, has a PER of 22.79.

I know it's early, but I think we got a good deal on that Markieff contract. Between that and the rising cap, Marcus' (who has also shown improvement) deal looks a lot more tenable.

What is the ceiling of this current team? If the Morrii keep improving, if Len becomes a solid starting center, if Warren pans out ... is this team able to become a contender given time? Or do we still need a stud PF or a greater consolidation of talent at our forward positions (rather than several decent forwards without a star)?

I would settle for Len turning into Tim Duncan.

... Or Britney Griner.

To reach contender status you need at minimum 2 all-stars, but you realistically need 3. Last year with this same team (basically) we had 0. We just need more talent. Then we need that talent to be consistent. We can't have 2 of our 3 star PGs disappearing every night. It's hard to win games that way let alone contend.
Go Suns!
