Game Day: Suns (4-20) @ Blazers (13-11), Thurs 12/6/18

I couldn't take his screaming, so I shut it off. But he seemed like he was right. The lack of hustle on defense is unacceptable.

Another great thread to read two weeks later. SO much easier to read after a 4 game win-streak.

Does everyone still think we need to fire Igor?
Re: Game Day: Suns (4-20) @ Blazers (13-11), Thurs 12/6/18
That angle was dumb from the start. This was never Igor's fault. Folks were calling him out for being stubborn or taking too long to change things, but really in the big picture he has made a ton of adjustments on a very short time span. Many lineup and system adjustments have been made all in the first two months of his first season. I think he's displaying a pretty good overall ability to adapt to circumstances without being capricious and making changes every game on a whim.

I always thought the fire Igor stuff was way premature

Maybe because it was?

Yes, most definitely. Everyone thought he was slow to make changes, but he completely benched Anderson within 7 games, Bridges moves into the starting lineup very quickly. He probably played Canaan too long, but he is wisely sticking with Melton now.
I was worried about his inability to get our team to play hard, but that feels like it’s been resolved. And seems like getting rid of a few select vets and playing high energy youngsters has been the solution.

Just thinking about how we've come such a long way from this, which was only two seasons ago! Gambo said: “I think it’s the worst Phoenix sports team I’ve ever seen." Even last year (January 2020), he was still ranting about them: https://arizonasports.com/category/podc ... /?a=369519JeremyG wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 4:45 pmGambo's epic rant today: https://omny.fm/shows/burns-gambo/going ... n-the-suns

I just don't get why people would willingly listen to/read that man. I think I quit around 2009.JeremyG wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 5:06 pmJust thinking about how we've come such a long way from this, which was only two seasons ago! I’m not sure where this animosity comes from. He’s a good guy and is connected to the Arizona teams. What’s the problem?Indy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 9:51 amI just don't get why people would willingly listen to/read that man. Yep, and he can also be highly entertaining at times.SunsRIt wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 4:51 pmI’m not sure where this animosity comes from. He’s a good guy and is connected to the Arizona teams. I don't think he is entertaining, unless you like to hear people yell into a microphone and be wrong about most things except boxing and sometimes football. Whether or not he is "a good guy" or knows people that work for the AZ teams doesn't matter to me. But I get some people do just want to hear that. I mean that is the only reason Stephen A Smith has a job, or Cowherd, or Bayless. They speak faster and louder than other people, and do so with 100% confidence, even in the face of conflicting evidence. That entertains some people. Which is fine. I just like to hear people talk about the game. I like hearing David Nash break down the plays on both ends of the floor. Or Nekias Duncan and Steve Jones Jr talk about real basketball.
