Re: 2014 NBA Draft
Tyler Ennis has declared for the Draft...Rumors on tweeter is Embid is about to as well.
I'm not an Ennis guy, think he needs to get stronger, but hey its hard to pass up being slotted to go in the late lottery like alot of drafts have him right now.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I think Tyler is a very smart, skilled player with a high Bball IQ. That is what you want in a PG. He doesn't have a lot of holes in his game like Kendall Marshall did or even does. He's going to be a solid pg in the league, and could be the kind that gets better and better as he ages, like Nash.Sunsfan4life wrote:Tyler Ennis has declared for the Draft...Rumors on tweeter is Embid is about to as well.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I just saw nbadraft.net latest mock draft. For the Suns, they have Rodney Hood, Adreian Payne, and Shabazz Napier. If that happens, I am going to be truly disappointed. Those are three of my least desired 1st round projected players.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
That wouldn't be terrible, but I do hope for better than that. Adreian Payne is a perfect fit for the Suns though.
Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I am not a fan of any of those players, just think there are better players. I don't believe any of them are going to be very good pros.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I think Payne has a chance to be Taj Gibson, but not quite the defender and a little better on the offensive end. I think he'll be able to defend in the low post, provide solid rebounding, and stretch the floor. I could see him being a pretty valuable role player.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
NBADRAFT.NET is pretty awful in projecting where guys go and what teams draft what players.
That being said, Rodney Hood has bust potential. He looked scared out of his mine vs Mercer in the tourney. I guess him at drafting him at 19 is a low risk for a guy that has some skill, but I wouldn't take him in the lottery. Adreian Payne is pretty old. He'd be a solid guy on a contending team, he's a late 1st rounder IMO. solid, but not as much potential as others.
I'm still on the Kyle Anderson bandwagon, would love him at 14 (or thinking positively 19 being are 1st pick) T.J. Warren is another guy that would be a nice option for Phoenix and although he may be out of are reach, Gary Harris I think fits like a glove next to the dragon and BledShow.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
Just saw one of my targets declared, Zach LaVine of UCLA.
I don't watch a ton of hoops, but some of my other targets: Harrell, Harris, McBuckets, Poythress, Hollis-Jefferson, Young.

You'll probably get your wish, carey. McDonough seems to have a thing for Kentucky players, particularly those that underachieve or have suspect jumpers. Poythress and Young fit the bill.
I love Zach LaVine. He's not NBA ready yet, but I have a lot of confidence in his potential. I would love for the Suns draft him (although there may be cause for concern regarding his "camp"

What's wrong with his camp? Overbearing father like Kendall Marshall? Or a gang thing? Or what?INFORMER wrote: I love Zach LaVine. Yeah, what the hell happened to Poythress? Kid's just dropped clean off the map.
Is it a numbers crunch or is it something else? His stats for the year are WAY down.....

And also Poythress just isn't that good.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
My one friend who I usually go to the draft with (huge sixer fan btw, so obviously he has been a prospect junky this yr especially) hates Julius Randle as a prospect. I find myself defending him often even though I'm not crazy about him (I still have him in my top 7). I'm curious where you guys see Randle going...He specifically hates how he plays D and his measurable (says his arms are too small) my knock on Randle has been he doesn't always bring it, but I think he may of played his best game of the yr vs Wichita State (complete game)...and He and Gordon are the only likely top 10 picks that are still playing.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I hope your friend has been watching the last two Kentucky games. Randle has been making plays as a passes, making plays on the defensive end, as well as usually score and board work. I think so much of the top 7 is going depend on where teams land. Right now I don't see Randle going higher than 6th no lower than 8th.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I agree 100% INF. I didn't catch the whole game last night, but the game against Wichita was his most complete. I guess devils advocate would say, why can't he play like this all the time?

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
And to that I would say: he's still, after all the hype, just a freshman, and he's getting better as the year progresses. (any by better I mean a more complete player) And to be playing best his basketball in the biggest games of the year is a good thing. Or would a draft enthusiast prefer to see him have these games at the beginning of the season in non-conference play, when Kentucky is playing Idaho ITT Tech?
