Game Day: Nets (4-2) @ Suns (4-3), Wed 11/12/14

Len's on-court/off-court numbers are striking (though, as Indy notes, it's a small sample size that doesn't include the most recent game). According to 82games.com, we outscore the opposition by 8.9 points per 48 minutes with Len on the floor, and are outscored by 8.8 points per 48 minutes without him.

I still think Len is at least another year away from making an even larger contribution on the team, but it is becoming more apparent that the Suns need to move him to starting lineup and Plumlee into a more natural first energy big off the bench role.

I think that would help both guys, and the team.In2ition wrote:I still think Len is at least another year away from making an even larger contribution on the team, but it is becoming more apparent that the Suns need to move him to starting lineup and Plumlee into a more natural first energy big off the bench role.

Len needs to get the ball on offense, but the team needs to use him like a big. That is to say, No, he is not Amare Stoudemire, who should always get the ball on the move, rolling to the rim. Len needs the ball given to him when he's in an established position from which he's comfortable scoring. For now, that's mostly at the rim, but in time, I think he'll develop a solid post game and be able to knock down the standing J. He'll even be able to move with the ball. But he's never going to have the hands to be a devastating P&R guy. What he has are long... things. Long everything. He's long. And coordinated. We'll learn to accommodate him in time.

I think we'll start to see a little more offense naturally run through Len when that pinky finally heals up. It's clearly causing him discomfort when he's on the floor.OE32 wrote:Len needs to get the ball on offense, but the team needs to use him like a big. Len's step back jumper last night was very encouraging.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Shot clock running out. Len about 10 feet from the hoop just to the left of the FT line. Dribbles once, steps back, and shoots a picture perfect jumper over the outstretched hand of the defender that gently swishes through the net.OE32 wrote:I missed itSuperbone wrote:Len's step back jumper last night was very encouraging.

Who bothers to watch Sports Center?

I looked for a clip online but couldn't find one. I had to pull out my very best description for OE32.INFORMER wrote:Even Sports Center showed it.OE32 wrote:I missed itSuperbone wrote:Len's step back jumper last night was very encouraging.

I haven't watched Sports Center in a long time. It is just so annoying to watch for me. I do still watch Around the Horn and PTI, that is probably about it for ESPN though.

I watch ATH solely but I have been watching Grantland Basketball Hour. That thing is such a trainwreck though. It's hilarious. Bill put his hat on backwards, spilled beer on himself, set the smoke machine off about 2 minutes late, and a number of comedy errors that had me laughing my butt off yesterday. Man they need to get it together.Wally_West wrote:I haven't watched Sports Center in a long time. It is just so annoying to watch for me. I like Simmons a lot and listen to / read most everything he does. But I haven't been watching the Grantland Basketball Hour. I just can't make an appointment to watch TV like that any more. Why don't they post a video of the show on Grantland afterward? And/or make it available as a podcast? I'd check that out for sure.carey wrote:I watch ATH solely but I have been watching Grantland Basketball Hour. That thing is such a trainwreck though. It's hilarious. Appointment TV? What are you talking about? It's called a DVR.Mori Chu wrote:I like Simmons a lot and listen to / read most everything he does.
