Game Day (Preseason): Blazers (0-2) @ Suns (2-1), Wed 10/13/21

Post by Superbone »

Time: 2:00 pm AZ (2:00 pm PT/5:00 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: NBALP

The Suns close out their preseason schedule at home with opening night a week away. I hope to see Book get some burn even though I'm normally against book burning. <rim shot>

Go Suns!!!

I’m ready for them to continue what they have been doing.

For any local folks: If you want to go to the game today and can make the 2pm start, hit me up. Lower level pair of seats on the aisle.

Portland is so bad on defense. And their bigs are mostly horrendous. Why do people think this team is going to be a sleeper exactly?

Yea I was just thinking the Blazers have just been the same team for like 4-5 years. They have that late 90s Suns malaise thing going. You know Dame and CJ aren't going to lock anyone down and they still haven't figured out the SF and PF positions.

A lot of 3s taken so far, both teams chucking early. Kinda feels like they're over these preseason games. Book looks great, something like 17pts on 6-10 shooting in 16 minutes? McGee with like 5 dunks, I think 3 off lobs. Teams just won't get a break against our bench now. Payne still not great handling some defensive pressure. He's been up and down in preseason IMO. Shamet quiet. Cam and Mikal doing their things and DA with a few nice jumpers.

Usual starters are sitting the rest of the half. Now it's just our bench the rest of the way.

Man, Shamet and McGee look great. Really exciting bench this year.

Payton with seven assists.
Nader has a decent stat line.

I'm not going to overreact to pre-season, but there's a decent chance that Portland just isn't very good this year. Betting under 44.5 wins for them seems like stealing money to me.

Excerpt from SB Nation:

"Portland committed 21 turnovers, shot 16% from the three-point arc, and generally died a slow death as Phoenix rained in threes and jammed home dunks."
