Re: Around the League: Week 3 (10/31 - 11/6)
I've been rotating watching different games and Nets/Pistons was a great bad game. Harden's near quadruple-double, Blake Griffin antics, Dwayne Casey's unrelenting confidence in Corey Joseph.. A masterclass in dumb basketball. (besides KD)

It feels like every other game involves one team going up by 20+ points in the first half and then completely blowing it in the second half. Sometimes we'll even get the 40+ point swing, like the Knicks and Bucks just pulled off.

I don't get it. Why didn't Harden pick up the ball?

He went after it originally trying to get it before it went back court. When he realized he couldn’t, there wasn’t much of a reason to pick it up…assuming Bey didn’t follow. I think he just thought there was no one there and he was going to let it go out of bounds.
Re: Around the League: Week 3 (10/31 - 11/6)
Finally some good news to take the heat off Sarver!

I thought Bey knocked it and Harden could legally pick it up. Either way, you pick it up.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 12:57 amHe went after it originally trying to get it before it went back court. Looked like he dribbled it off his foot, but ya you still pick it up. Not sure why he would think Bey didn’t follow. Just a lazy move by HardenSuperbone wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 11:31 amI thought Bey knocked it and Harden could legally pick it up. Yeah, we all know Harden is lazy. Just look at his body. Talented but lazy.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 11:38 amLooked like he dribbled it off his foot, but ya you still pick it up. Rubio with a career high 37 points for the Cavs tonight as they beat NY in MSG. Hit his first 8 3s before missing his final one. Cavs making me feel pretty good about picking them to make the playoffs in the East. They’re 7-4 now.
Re: Around the League: Week 3 (10/31 - 11/6)
Cavs came together very nicely. I think Rubio is an important reason along with Mobley playing so well right out of the gate.
Re: Around the League: Week 3 (10/31 - 11/6)
Mobley is so good. I was torn between him and Cunningham as the top guy in the draft….obviously way too early to tell, but Cavs look like they got a major piece in Mobley.
Re: Around the League: Week 3 (10/31 - 11/6)
Rubio has been turning around his 3-point shooting ala Kidd in his later years.

The Cavs are legitimately good. They should be in contention for a top 10 spot all season.
As an aside, I don't like Colin Sexton's game at all. He looks like Eric Bledsoe 2.0 to me. That's not necessarily a terrible thing on a lot of teams, but we've seen that type of player struggle to contribute to winning big games in the Spring/Summer.

Re: Around the League: Week 3 (10/31 - 11/6)
Cavs didn’t extend him, right? I think they prefer Garland as he’s an actual pg. I think Sexton can play, but his ideal role is probably the Lou Williams, 6th man, 3rd guard role. But it’s often hard to move a young player into that role if you’ve been starting him since you drafted him. Might need to go somewhere else to find the right fit.
I wonder if Dallas would trade for him. Might be a decent backcourt fit with Luka.

Re: Around the League: Week 3 (10/31 - 11/6)
Sexton would be a perfect Vinnie Johnson type off the bench, but I think you are right Split, hard to do that when you've been starting your whole career and getting used to the idea of a max contract. But he doesn't seem to have made a big stink about that contract situation and locker room chemistry actually seems good there... Not sure if Dallas has assets to offer though. Their bench is actually surprisingly barren -- Ntilikina is getting rotational minutes for them.

Lol
Didn't expect to see all the Cavs comments but yes since we beat them here they have won 4 straight (@ CHA, vs POR, @ TOR, @ NYK) which I would say are quite solid results especially with 3 on the road.
Everyone is praising Evan Bosh lol
, rightfully so but Garland really makes the starting unit tick. Ricky been $$ with the 2nd unit , helluva game and check the body language (he was for sure feeling it). Spain jersey had to be on underneath

It's really great to see Rubio playing this well recently. My only fear is that he'll pick up an injury and lose it similar to what happened with Aron Baynes on the Suns after he played well in the FIBA World Cup.
