I turned it off at halftime. I am very confused by this final score.

That’s a lot of free throws for the Clippers
Last two nights combined at the free throw line, then:

Suns 15-of-21, Lakers/Clippers 58-of-74.

Presented without further comment.

Suns might’ve actually won if they played Holiday over Payton.

I’m pretty sure we have until tomorrow to convert 2-ways into full season deals. So…

If it’s determined Frank is not going to be able to play, or at least play effectively in the playoffs, you cut him and sign Ish to a “Hinkie special” (3-4 year deal at the minimum with TOs after each year. It’s a tough move but totally understandable. Why use a playoff roster spot on an injured guy. No different than Nader.

If they do think they’ll get Frank back, then they’ll need to cut Elfrid. He’s not an NBA player and should under no circumstances see non-garbage time playoff minutes. It’s obvious that Holiday is a better option, but I’d also rather play Booker or Shamet at the 1 in case of emergency. Ish actually has a potential use in the playoffs.

Then there’s the question of Iffe. It didn’t make a ton of sense to bring him over from Europe mid-season, have him for 5 games and then let him become a UFA in the offseason. They probably want to give him a 2 year deal with a TO after this year, but need a roster spot. This won’t shock you, but I wouldn’t hesitate to cut Elfrid for Iffe. And I’d cut a healthy Frank for Ish, too.

Hopefully the Suns make the practical moves and not the sentimental ones.

Weirdest game I can remember.

The basketball gods allowed that comeback to happen because Ty Lue was pressing up 39.

Yeah no more Elfrid please. Ever. He's got no future here. Play Holiday.

I'm officially worried about Cam Johnson. His shooting isn't improving after 3 games. Still time but I'm worried. In comparison Norman Powell missed 2 months and made his first 6 shots.

I don't know what else can be said about Shamet. He's a dud. Had like 1 good week the whole season.

Best case scenario the Clippers get the 7th see and play the Grizz

Embarrassing.

9 points in the second quarter.
I feared a record for fewest points in a game after that 31 point half. Thanks god the deep bench showed up in the second half.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Ya I think this game showed Ish is pretty useful…think we have to find a way to keep him for the playoffs.

Not sure I feel the need with Iffe to sign him…Still super early, but I’m not sure if he’s an nba player. I don’t know that he’ll have a ton of suitors in the offseason, I think we can bring him back in the summer if we want him.

A single digit loss after where this game was would be hilarious
Hilarious it was then.

It’d be even more hilarious if we just win the game haha
Let’s not be ridiculous. :P Getting it to four was pretty darn good though.

Ish Wainwright…what a crazy find by James Jones. I fully expect him to be on the playoff roster. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was in the regular rotation next year too.

I'm not worried about Cam Johnson. He struggled shooting the ball to start the season, but eventually turned it around. Hopefully, the Suns will be playing enough playoff games for him to get his rhythm back.

I had high hopes for Shamet and can admit I got that wrong, but he's not a dud unless we're factoring in his salary in which case it becomes a debate. He never looks lost and consistently plays hard, especially on defense. He's a reliable 4th guard at a minimum, and I think he'll have an impact in every series.

He'll become a real gem if he's playable on a minimum deal because Mikal, and most likely Ayton and Cam Johnson, will be taking up much more of the cap.

I forgot to add that his shooting form has looked much improved recently. Maybe he always had that and it just took some time for him to be comfortable in the NBA.

I think 'bazz nailed it. Cut Elfrid and Frank to keep Ish and Iffe. The former are at the end of their NBA careers while the latter are just getting started.

Just checked the box score. Shamet laid a massive egg.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Shamet has been shooting 39% from 3 since the ASG. I think he's useful but I've been disappointned.

The only way this can happen is if they win the 7/8 game, right?
Go Suns!

Yes, if the Clippers win the 7/8 game, they get the 7 seed.

I think we're going to play either the Pelicans or Spurs first round. I just have a feeling that whoever loses that 7/8 game is going to lose a second one. My gut feeling is that Clips get the 7 seed and Pelicans beat the Spurs and Wolves for the 8 spot.

I kind of feel that way, too. I think we will be playing the Pelicans in the first round, and that would be my 2nd scariest match up for us of the people we could play in the 1st (Clips, Pels, Wolves, Spurs). I would much prefer the Spurs in the 1st, let the Clips play Memphis.

There is still a good chance that Utah slips to 6th place and goes against GSW in round 1, while Dallas gets Denver.

If it does play out like that, our path would be Pels-->Dal/Denver-->Memphis/GSW/Clips. That is a pretty formidable path.
