I hate the block/charge call on a 1-on-1 dribble drive. Unless a the offensive player clearly extends their off-ball arm to get leverage, I want to see it called a blocking foul every time. I don't care if the defender is "set". Don't fall over like a chump.
So guys like Shaq or Giannis could just plow through people and it will never be a foul if they just use their shoulder?
OK, fine. Add dipping the shoulder to the offensive foul. I just hate that defenders are rewarded for falling over. Unless we're talking about huge mismatches like Giannis against Payton Pritchard, these guys aren't that far apart in physical strength.

Maybe the most wild part about Brooks is that his mechanics look awful. It would be one thing if he were putting up shots that looked good but just missed, but almost all of those are totally out of control like some of the kids in my basketball club who just panic when they receive a pass.

Seriously? Almost everybody in the league is overmatched when Giannis is coming at them at 100 mph.

He must only look good against us. Seems like he can't miss when he's playing the Suns.

Al Horford and Grant Williams are doing a good enough job so far.

It's important to think about the domino effect of what I'm suggesting. Taking away the defender's ability to sell a charge by falling over empowers them to defend with physicality. This would then diminish the offensive player's ability to draw blocking fouls through body contact in order to maintain competitive balance.

The problem with officiating Giannis now is that he initiates so much contact the officials are conditioned to think a foul must've occurred when there wasn't actually a foul committed at all. In many cases the correct call is just "play on", and that's the type of result I would like to achieve. Fewer stoppages, fewer free throws, more skillful basketball.

We're also starting to see the downside of the flagrant foul for "above the shoulder contact". Now every little tap to the head is reviewed and we occasionally get the absurd flagrant fouls like the one Booker was given in Game 4. That stuff never happened before they opened a pathway for players to embellish contact.

Reggie Miller is my basketball masochism at this point. Suns only win when he's calling the game but I can't stand anything he says.

Reggie Miller sounds exactly like somebody doing a mocking impression of Reggie Miller.

I couldn't believe it last night. There was a play when Crowder, I believe, made a great defensive play on Luka, dived on the floor and caused a jump ball. Reggie Miller couldn't stop gushing about Luka. "Luka the DON! Look at him on the floor! This is why he's the greatest!". I couldn't stop shaking my head.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I mean seriously though. How could the golden boy get on the floor?! He's going to get dirty and not be quite as golden. It was something to behold. Like Monty Python taught us, that's how you know who's king. He doesn't have shit all over him.

Jrue Holiday just had maybe the best defensive 10 seconds I've ever seen.

Milwaukee just had an incredible final 2 minutes. They were down 6, Giannis and Jrue hit back to back 3s, then Tatum hit 2 ft’s to put Boston up 2. Giannis drew a foul, made 1, missed the 2nd, but Portis grabbed the offensive board and scored. Down 1, Smart looked to have an open lane, but Jrue snuck over late and blocked him from behind and then threw it off him. Bucks hit 2 free throws and then Jrue steals it from Smart to seal it. Two incredible defensive possessions by Jrue.

HUGE win by Milwaukee, as you guys just described. That was a champion win there. Just reached out and took it away from Boston in the last few minutes. Giannis was a beast and Jrue had some excellent and savvy defensive plays. Pretty impressive without Middleton.

I would have to look for the stats but Grizzlies been outplaying Warriors a whole bunch in that series
Dumb stretches of play and I guess injuries have derailed them but doesn't look like Warriors been playing at any consistent high level

Despite the nearly 60 point lead, there is no way the Ja-less Grizzlies beat the Warriors 3 times in a row.

Warriors down 54 points to a Ja-less Grizzlies. That warriors death line up real scary.
