I hate that the NYT picks words each day instead of just using a random generator/random pick from list.

I hate that the NYT picks words each day instead of just using a random generator/random pick from list.

I was under the impression that it's still using the original algorithm that chose these words years in advance but that the Times chose to skip this word due to the recent news.

Oh, I thought they were NOT using Wardle's original list. It was open to everyone (just looking into the site's html) and I thought I read they didn't want that. Also, this wasn't the first time it coincided with the happenings of the day.
