Toronto is not getting a young historically efficient center without giving up FVV or Siakam
Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
Both of those guys are more valuable than DA on a 5 year max contract.specialsauce wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 2:14 pmToronto is not getting a young historically efficient center without giving up FVV or Siakam

And much older. DA is a 23 year old center who already has an unguardable post move, plays above average D, moves well and has added to his game each year in the league.Indy wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 2:16 pmBoth of those guys are more valuable than DA on a 5 year max contract.specialsauce wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 2:14 pmToronto is not getting a young historically efficient center without giving up FVV or Siakam
Let’s not discount him. OG ???? Disrespectful. FOH
Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
well then let's keep the KD rumors alive.

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
OG's intriguing and I like Achuiwa but not enough to trade DA without more coming back. OG's only played like 40 games each of the last 2 years too and has spent more time at SF than PF. He'd probably be more of a Crowder type of replacement that can guard 4s and switch around on defense, but he's not going to make up the difference of losing someone like DA.
Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
That is the reason I would say no. I don't trust his health. But if DA signs there for a front-loaded max and asked us not to match, I would take back OG and Achuiwa and push hard for a pick swap.ShelC wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 2:37 pmOG's intriguing and I like Achuiwa but not enough to trade DA without more coming back. Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
OG Anunoby as the centerpiece of an Ayton trade isn't enough. OG is really good but not great, and he carries health concerns. I think his contract is fair value.
I don't value Precious Achiuwa much. He's a back-end rotation big man. High energy, but limited in skill. His ceiling is Richaun Holmes, in my opinion. More likely his career plays out like Montrezl Harrell.

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
It makes sense if you think about it. If he gets more offensive rebounds, doesn't pass out of them, and takes less FGA, then that's probably because teams are fouling him when he gets the offensive rebounds. He isn't a great free throw shooter. In fact, teams have even played hack-a-Rudy at times.

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
If he can create his own shot 19% of the time (and not all of those are putbacks), then that means he is capable of doing it. Again, it comes down to the system.

I'll take Siakam.
I just think DA is gone. Would hate to see him go though.

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
That is a really good point. But the strategy works well for the Jazz. He scores 4.6 ppg from the line on only 7.7 total FGAs. Ayton only gets 1.8 ppg from the line while taking 12.0 FGAs.JeremyG wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 3:59 pmIt makes sense if you think about it. Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
But Siakim is more valuable than DA. We would have to send DA plus another 12M in salary and likely draft compensation. And that is only if DA is willing to play there. DA holds more power than anyone in this situation.Uncle_Gene wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 4:07 pmI'll take Siakam.

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
I know everyone is probably getting sick of me saying this, but DA has a chance to create his own shot a dozen times every single game with the DHO plays we run. But he doesn't do that except for maybe once a week.
Re: Suns Off-Season Thread
That’s an…. interesting way of looking at it.
Unfortunately, I don’t think his “touches” stats back that up. Like Indy said, some of it is scheme, but a lot of it is him not being aggressive, especially if there’s some resistance at the rim.
