How about Scottie Barnes?
Deal.

FWIW, I think Barnes will be the best player on the Raptors next season and the Raptors value him as such. There's no way they'd trade him for Ayton.

I think we should have a contest conjuring up trade scenarios for DA or just reporting online conjecture. Trades must be legal in terms of salary cap. Winner is whoever can get the worst reaction from Saucy.

Too easy.

Hornets - Deandre Ayton
Suns - Kelly Oubre Jr.

Ya Barnes is headed for superstardom, he’s pretty easily their most untouchable piece. He’s a 6’7 playmaking wing that defends all over the court and made huge strides with his shot. He’s like a potential 24/8/8 guy someday.

Since this is trade proposal mania these days...

DA to Houston for 3,17...and...hmmm...John Wall and/or Schroder? Gordon?

There are desirable players with specific teams I’d take on for Ayton:
Indiana has two deals or one bug one I’d pull-
Turner + their 1st for Ayton
Saric, Shamet, protected 1st for Brogdan

Charlotte- Ayton for Rozier + PJ Washington or anyway to get Miles Bridges

Nets: KD for Ayton + Cam J + change

Somehow, you need to work Nader in there too. Or maybe throw in Mike James as well.

Then the Suns should insist on him being included in an Ayton trade.

And how many more FTs a game in spite of that?
Rudy took almost 3 times as many FTA per game this season.
Wow. That's all I can say.
It makes sense if you think about it. If he gets more offensive rebounds, doesn't pass out of them, and takes less FGA, then that's probably because teams are fouling him when he gets the offensive rebounds. He isn't a great free throw shooter. In fact, teams have even played hack-a-Rudy at times.
That is a really good point. But the strategy works well for the Jazz. He scores 4.6 ppg from the line on only 7.7 total FGAs. Ayton only gets 1.8 ppg from the line while taking 12.0 FGAs.
And how exactly is that helpful if Gobert's FT% is worse than his FG%?

I'll take Ayton's 30.3 points per 100 possessions over Gobert's 19.3 points per 100 possessions in the playoffs every single time.

Wow…how does Gobert have a lower assisted %? Just offensive boards?
And the Suns are supposed to have him create his own shots as a second option? How?!
If he can create his own shot 19% of the time (and not all of those are putbacks), then that means he is capable of doing it. Again, it comes down to the system.
I know everyone is probably getting sick of me saying this, but DA has a chance to create his own shot a dozen times every single game with the DHO plays we run. But he doesn't do that except for maybe once a week.
Who says he feels comfortable doing that consistently yet, or that that is the best position for him to create a shot from? He's usually at the three-point line or close to it. Even if he has the option, they're not running that for him or because of him, they're running it primarily for Book or someone else and he knows that. Monty has not utilized or developed him offensively enough because that's not how his system works.

(By the way, in Ayton's rookie season, when we had no point guard at all, he created 29% of his own shots.)

Turner is fine if they're bringing in a star wing/PF. There are better options available if not.

I have next to zero interest in Brogdon. He can't stay healthy and he's over qualified and overpaid for a 3rd guard.

Bridges is ideal, but not realistic due to cap and free agency limitations. I'm intrigued by Rozier, but I'd need at least one more rotation player and a lottery pick to be satisfied.

KD is a no-brainer. I'd balk at Ayton and Mikal for him, but I think I'd ultimately accept it if Ayton was in his feeling so much that he just wants out of Phoenix above all else.

I'm sure many of you guys have seen this but it's a pretty fun exercise to share. I voted 'No' on the 5-year max, but 'Yes' on the 4-year max.

I don't think Ayton is worth that salary, but it's the most prudent team building strategy as it would enable the Suns to trade him after December 15th if things aren't amicable or Jones/Monty just don't believe in Ayton.

Kevin Durant beefing and responding to a bunch of Steph stans on Twitter because they are saying he was so good during his warriors run because of Stephs gravity or some shit like that.

I don’t too much care about the issue, but any reason, no matter how petty it is, helps motivates him to come to Phoenix just so beat them smug asses, is alright with me!

Yea the injuries are a concern. But we need this level or player to replace CP3 when he’s injured, who can play in any 3 guard lineup, AND defend.
So Brogdon would get plenty play time. CP3 is virtually going to be getting sixth man minutes.
