KD would be the best player to ever put on a Suns uniform and he's still an MVP candidate. I don't get the hesitation.
I get *some* hesitation because he could have something crazy happen and never play a game for us at his current level.

BUT he played last year and scored 29.9 ppg on 57.0% eFG. This is after he recovered from an Achilles injury!
He's no more or less of an injury risk than any other player in the league, so I really don't get that part.
Not true. Previous injury history makes a player a greater injury risk. Age also makes him a greater injury risk.

You have anything to back that up besides anecdotes? The only time it could be true is with chronic injures such as Amare's knees. Durant hasn't had an issue like that in his career.

I don't care about his age. The Suns are trying to win a title now and their chance of doing it next season with Durant is more tangible than 3+ years in the future when an infinite number unpredictable events could occur.

He is a top 5 player in the league, guys.
He’s turning 34 years old. That means he has to prove he’s a top 5 player each year. You can’t just assume he will be this season just because he (arguably) was last season.
It's an even bigger assumption that he won't be a top 5 player next season because he's been one every year he played for the past decade.

They have the same amount of risk.

And why bring up Giannis?

That is like saying it is more likely for Ayton to get suspended again for violating doping rules again.

Yep. Giannis plays way more risky so I would be more likely to believe he gets injured than Durant.

Past behavior predicts future behavior. I find myself flexible being happy trading bigly for KD past our comfort zone. I’d also be content if JJ and Month re-signed him. KD at age 34 is still a top 5 player.

I listen to recent episode of Flex’s podcast, here’s a breakdown:

-Still 99% sure Suns will get KD

-0% he’s going to GS, TOR or any other place that isnt Phoenix. His agent made it very clear he only wants to go to Phoenix.

-Only 2 possible scenarios for KD, either traded to Phoenix or stays in Brooklyn to start the season but thinks it’s pretty unlikely. Brooklyn bluffing that they will run it back with KD and Kyrie so they can get best possible deal.

-Phoenix has the best offer on the table and if there was a better offer from someone else that isn’t Phoenix then KD’s agent already killed it.

-KD will most likely get traded before Kyrie. Brooklyn also wants to trade Ben Simmons.

Brooklyn love Donovan Mitchell and Mitchell loves Brooklyn. Something to keep an eye on.

-trade could take another week or 2 weeks, perhaps longer. Phx willing to wait a little longer if it means not giving up Mikal.
Expect talks to intensify during Vegas summer league.

-they don’t talk about Ayton.

-Booker will sign his Supermax extension this week in Vegas during summer league.

Danny Ainge is looking at the Suns assets like a buffet right now. Maybe he wants to keep Mitchell in Utah, but I don't totally believe it'll happen because I don't know how long Mitchell will endure a rebuild.

He has to know Mitchell is the Suns best way of getting Durant and keeping most of their bench. Fuckin' Trader Danny is gonna do it again.

I just realized that these scenarios where the Suns trade 4 picks and 3 pick swaps to the Nets are impossible, because the Nets don’t have any picks to swap in 2024 or 2026.
