My biggest concern -

Career rebounds pre 36 min - Ayton 12.3, Turner 8.4

You team him with Crowder and Bridges and that's one of the worst rebounding front lines in the league.
KD is a great rebounder. Rebounding is also one of the most misleading stats there is.
KD is an atrocious rebounder for a PF, almost as bad as Crowder. Crowder averaged 6.8 rebounds per 36 minutes. KD averaged 7.2.

I would rather have Ayton than KAT or Bam, personally. So to me he's a top-3 center on a team that has good guards/wings. But I agree that it's subjective.
I don’t understand this opinion…why do you prefer Ayton? To me it’s not even close, those other two are much better.

Atrocious? C’mon man…Crowder isn’t even atrocious. Also as I said, rebounding is an incredibly misleading stat. KD has had a 20.0 defensive rebounding rate over the last 5 years. He’s 7’0 with a 7’5 wingspan and I’ve seen him pull down 17 boards in a game. If we need him to rebound he’ll rebound.

DA is twice the defender KAT is, just ask Nikola Jokic. They sure arent much better, as a matter of fact they are comparable players.

Ya DA is a much better defender and KAT is a much better offensive player. I’ll take the offense all day over the defense.

And Bam is a much better defender than Ayton, what about that one?

I don't like KAT's poor defense, and I don't like how he camps out at the 3-point line waiting for a pass so he can chuck up 3s. That's not really what I want from my center. Ayton has flaws in his game but I really like his efficient complementary offense. You can put Ayton next to ball-dominant guards and wings like Book, CP3, and KD and Ayton will fit in very well. And he'll give you great defense on the other end; you can't really "play Ayton off the floor" with a small lineup.

As for Bam, I like Bam more as an overall player than KAT. But I think I prefer Ayton overall due to his size, length, and efficient offense. I feel like Bam is a good-but-not-great center and would rather have Ayton especially if you factor in the growth that Ayton still has ahead of him.

In what way does Ayton’s size and length give you an advantage. Bam is the superior defender. Sure, Ayton is more efficient near the basket, but he still can’t create those shots on his own. Bam isn’t Jokic, Embiid, or KAT, but he can dribble at least and he’s a decent playmaker. You can run stuff through him.

I just don’t see how anyone watches that Mavs series and can’t see how having someone like Bam or KAT instead of Ayton absolutely shifts the series to us. Imagine having another option when CP3 was useless and Booker was being trapped on every ball screen.

I think Ayton and Bam are pretty comparable in value (and Miami fans have the same complains about Bam's consistency) - and of course Towns is a better scorer, but I don't know if he's going to help you win more games the way he plays (and he'd be a big drop off defensively)

I think it depends a little on what you have…if we’ve got CP3/Book/KD, I would take Ayton over KAT. I’d take Bam over both.

If you need someone to be a 1st or 2nd option? I’m taking KAT for sure. Bam vs Ayton is a bit trickier. I don’t really want either as a 1st or 2nd option but Bam would be better. And he’s a better defender, so that’s an easy decision for me. You could maybe talk me into Ayton being more valuable as a 4th option due to his insane efficiency, but the defensive downgrade makes it hard for me to ever think I’d take Ayton over Bam.

Have I missed any news today? Just Pacers sealing the deal? Any rumors on Ayton?

HE SHOOTS 41% ON THREES! HE SHOULD TAKE MORE OF THEM.

He would be the best 3 point shooter on our team.

There are less than 10 guys in the entire league that can take 5 3PA a game and still have an eFG over 59%.

Same here. If you need Bam or Ayton to be your 2nd option (meaning they are your 2nd best player on offense) you are screwed.

Summary stolen from Reddit

Flex just did a radio interview today. Some highlights:

Kevin Durant will “unequivocally” be on the Phoenix Suns.

Expects Nets will end up with a ton of draft picks to send Kevin Durant to the Suns.

Based on his recent discussions, he feels it’s more likely Mikal Bridges will have to be included in the KD trade.

Indiana Pacers have always had interest in Deandre Ayton and the Suns have been aware of that. Expects a S&T for Ayton.

There are going to be a lot of players interested in the Suns after we acquire KD that he can’t talk about yet.

Talks about Dame Lillard, how he’s a mentor to Booker, and how Booker might be looking at Dame’s loyalty to the team and sticking with the Suns in
