I'd love it but I can't believe the Nets accepting that deal.

Re: Is KD coming to the Suns?
The Suns get the 2 best players in the 9 person trade. Not sure that will fly.

Is Buddy better than Cam J and Ayton? Probably Cam J, but I think Ayton is definitely #2 here.

Ya I guess if we’re factoring in money. Ignoring money I think Ayton is the 2nd best player though.
Re: Is KD coming to the Suns?
I agree, but I think we really need creators and guys that can dribble.

Heild can do both. Creating for others is not one of his elite skills or anything but I think he can do enough in that regard. His scoring and shooting abilities will be huge for us.
Ayton is the better play and 23, he would be apart of Indy’s future core while just Heild isn’t. Getting Ayton for Heild would be great get for Indy.

Re: Is KD coming to the Suns?
And yet you said yesterday that you would prefer to give up Ayton in order to keep Cam J.

No I said I’d prefer to have Turner and Cam J to just Ayton. I did say I’d rather have Mikal over Ayton
Re: Is KD coming to the Suns?
But then if Turner walks next summer, you're left with just Cam J.

Cam J could also leave next summer. I’m not factoring what could happen into my decision. Ayton could have a career ending injury and we’d have nothing.
Re: Is KD coming to the Suns?
I'm factoring what's likely. We have the ability to extend Cam J this summer if we want. Turner is a UFA next summer (and Gambo says we don't even like him), so he would probably only be here for one year.Split T wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 10:47 amCam J could also leave next summer. Honestly, I didn’t really know anything about CP3 before he came to the Suns. When Book was being snubbed for the all-star game I thought CP3 was declining and that Book should have been in instead of CP3. I wonder now why the “point god” has been on so many teams. Something seems off with that.
Re: Is KD coming to the Suns?
I think it is pretty clear. Most people don't get along with him when he is pushing them. JJ said it on the podcast--"I wanted to punch you in your face!" while also saying he is a top teammate of his all-time. Sickos aren't on all teams.SunsRIt wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 11:06 amHonestly, I didn’t really know anything about CP3 before he came to the Suns. I wouldn’t want the post prime Melo who thought he was still prime Melo, but he seems to have figured out his role.
If we ignored the name I think all of us would gladly take a guy who put up 13/4 in 24 minutes while shooting 44/38/83 on a .579 TS%. He’s pretty legitimately a good shooter and still has the ability to create his own shot. As a 20 minute off the bench guy I think he makes a lot of sense. He’s 38, so that’s why we’re talking 1 year vet min deals, but no risk there. You just let him go if it doesn’t work out. 39/41/38….those are his 3 point percentages the last 3 years.

The suns don’t like Ayton and according to you are likely to let him walk for nothing, so by your reasoning, 1 year of Turner is better, no?
Re: Is KD coming to the Suns?
That’s way too much guessing for me. Gambo really doesn’t know much about the suns. I would say it’s not likely the suns would even trade for Turner if they don’t like him…so my opinion is based on a scenario where they like him enough to trade for him. Also the point is it’s my opinion, not the suns.JeremyG wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 10:49 amI'm factoring what's likely. We have the ability to extend Cam J this summer if we want.
