Gambo saying that he thinks we're set with the roster. I know we have up until the deadline to make changes, but blech.
Blech? That's a little strong, don't you think?
We flamed out in spectacular fashion and, as of today, our big changes were losing Javale and adding Landale, Okogie and Lee. 3 minimum guys. So yeah, if this is the grand offseason plan, then “blech.”
But still lots of time to actually upgrade the team.
I'm with 'bazz. It's eh, meh, and blech.
With the way the rosters look now, I don't think they can get past GSW or LAC in the West. The Suns are in the group of about 5 other teams that need a few breaks to go their way to get into the Finals. Really good, but not great.
You guys are spoiled rotten.
Spoiled rotten? Seems dramatic. I never said anything about not appreciating the team or season.
I just don't think there's enough improvement to put them above all other contenders right now.

The team and the players we have right now are not worse than the team last year that won a franchise record wins. We do need a step up from Ayton, Bridges or Johnson and we need to rest CP3 as much as possible during the regular season or they will not make a deep playoff run. If CP3 goes into the playoffs very well rested we have a shot.

Yeah. If you would have asked me three years ago if I’d be happy with having a contender today, of course I would have said yes. But now that we are a contender, we need to make moves beyond relying on continuity and internal development.
Last year we had some needs at the deadline and we brought in 3 guys who could barely get off the bench in the playoffs. Can’t miss an opportunity again.
Again, we have time, but I think it would be smarter to make moves before the season so that if we need to make additional moves we have time to do it.
Precious Achiuwa, Dalano Banton, Batum, Chris Boucher, Amir Coffey, Tre Jones, Laravia, Mamukelashvili, Tre Mann, De'Anthony Melton, Minott, Nance, Chris Paul, GP2, T. Prince, Reed, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Tate, Watford, Yabusele

This perspective implies that progression is linear and doesn't account for regression. Will Booker be 1st team All-NBA again? Chris Paul 3rd team? Maybe, but the odds aren't in favor of it.
I also don't think cumulative fatigue had much to do with Paul's performance against the Mavs. The drop off we saw couldn't have happened without an acute factor.
They need a someone to take some of the offensive load off of Paul, not because of fatigue, but to diversify the offense. I'm holding out hope one of the younger guys can turn that corner because I'm a Suns fan, but I think the chances of it happening are low if I'm being objective.

I mean of the people still available, he’s probably the best option. I guess Harrell is still out there, right?
I wouldn’t hate Melo on this team. He can space the floor and while not necessarily efficient, he can create his own shot still. Not the worst thing to have as a vet min bench player. He’s obviously not making or breaking this team though.
I don't get why we don't see that a PG is our larger concern...sigh...
Because "PGs" don't have to be 6 foot 3 and under. Plenty of teams run offense through other positions. "Offensive initiator/creator" is more broad and isn't limited to the 1998 definition of PGs.

I think I'd look into what Philly would want for Paul Reed. I think he's going to develop into a nice power forward, and I think he had a good summer league.

Guess you missed the memo where our team offense is built around a premiere point guard, fella running around with Paul on his back? Not the tallest guy on the court, maybe ya missed him...

They don’t have to be under 6’3, but they can be. We joke about Saric unlocking Payne, but there’s definitely truth to that and it’s not just because Saric spaces the floor better for him. He also is another playmaker on the court. He dribbles, attacks closeouts, attacks off DHO’s, and moves the ball. Payne is not CP3, he can’t run the entire offense, but he can be useful if he has the right pieces around him that can help.
Now I’m not saying I don’t think we should try and upgrade. I think people also kinda figured out Payne…he almost never uses his right hand and his sneaky little scoop layup has been figured out. Spacing would help, but the scouting reports are out there. He needs to adjust now too.
Ultimately we’ve got 6 guys I feel confident can play in the playoffs, I’m hopeful we have 1-2 more on the roster, but I’m not counting on that. We just need to find those 1-2 more guys and then probably upgrade one of our wings.
I don’t care too much about position, I just want more shot creation. More versatility.

We went out and got Duane Washington, Jock Landale, Josh Okogie, and NBA Champion Damion Lee and you guys want MORE?!!!! Sheesh.

We know they aren’t that exciting, but who are we most excited about those 4?
I’m between Landale and Washington…probably Washington. I do think he has the ability to give us something we need.
Lee and Okogie are just kinda what they are. Don’t think either of them are more than spot players and bench depth. We don’t want them playing in the playoffs. Of course we don’t want Washington too either, but maybe he develops into something

He was well rested. He missed a few weeks with his injury. He had plenty of rest to end the year/start the playoffs.
He’s just fragile. He can’t handle playing physical playoff ball every other night for two months.
