Suns 2022 Preseason News and Notes

Post by Superbone »

From NBA.com's Suns preview:
Paul won’t make excuses, but he suffered a quadriceps injury that slowed him for the most important games of that series.

It was pretty clear he was not the same player. Also makes sense why he might say that he learned nothing from the series loss.

Same shit, different year. From what I saw, he was getting to his spots but just looking off shots. Maybe he couldn't rise up and shoot it. Everything seemed odd with everyone. We'll see if it carries over this year.

Maybe more relevant, let’s see if we bring in a contingency plan.

Have you seen who the GM is? He hates 2 things, change, and draft picks. We gonna rock with what we've got, unless Mario Chalmers comes calling.

Quickley and Reddish for Jae?

There are a few Knicks players that make sense as targets.

Would the knicks do that tho? They seem real high on him.

Well, they thought their pace was too slow so they decided to move Quickley and when they did, they got a little Reddish in the face.

I thought Ayton was suppose to go to that game to watch too? I wonder what happened?

The problem is that our depth is going to be exposed up until the trade deadline. James Jones and the front office have some trade deadline deals they are already planning for since Durant held hostage our offseason. He might still be the focus at that point. Who knows. But it's going to create a lot of frustrated fans early in the season and our starters with more wear than they'd like by the trade deadline.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Coach got his eyes fixed but don't ask him if it will make him a better coach!

Looking forward to seeing more PointLandry. I think he's done well in that kind of role and it might help his overall game. Also want to see more of Dario at the 4 spot. He came into the league as a 3/4, struggled starting at the 4 with us when he got here but found his niche as a backup 5. I think with Lansdale here and the lack of PFs, Monty doesn't really have a choice but to play him there. He was overmatched as starter, maybe he'll fare better against backups.

A NBA player hitting multiple consecutive shots in a row at practice without D should not be news
But yeah this surprised me lol 😆, I might even go look back at some of his game highlights to see if there's anything different with his shooting form/action

I honestly only remember always expecting bricks when we played against him 🤦🏾‍♂️

So I actually found some in game footage, it took a lil while so obviously isn't a regular thing....
But I definitely have seen worst jumpers than this over the years so maybe there's a chance his shooting might not be terrible. Again with the YouTube search just now, the defensive highlights are top stuff so like most have said any kind of decent play on offense could make him useful

I'm counting down the days until this guy either retires or goes to play in LA; what an obnoxious nickname.

It isn't some novelty. Landry was a point guard in college. When his first couple of teams saw his long distance catch and shoot ability, they moved him off the ball.
