Lee needs more time...going by the numbers, he played smart and isn't ball dominant. Duane is a score first PG, and that isn't what the bench needs...it needs a facilitator, and going just by the one putting of course, he's much more promising. We'll see...one game doesn't make a complete picture...but we need to give him more time.
So, Split, I'm calling Saben as our target backup PG, as nobody else called him......
What's your issue?
Washington was 1/5 on 3 pointers and had all of 4 assists in 40 minutes, with 11 turnovers. His over/under was -4.
Lee had 9 points and 3 assists in 14 minutes. He shot well. His over/under was +6.
Given these are the first minutes given, I'd say Lee has earned a deeper look. So, again, you may have wished they signed a bigger name...hell, so do I...but of who we have at the moment, Lee earned more of a look...he didn't have 11 turnovers for crying out loud.
I’m perfectly fine giving Lee a further look, but I don’t think comparing turnovers is fair. We asked DWJ to play a role that is not meant for him. He’s not a pg, Lee is a pg. Lee would be awful if we asked him to be our primary scorer. DWJ did a pretty good job of that.
If this were our real starting 5, we would win about 4 games out of 82.
You must have watched a different game than I did. It was surprisingly enjoyable with our bench outplaying the Kings’ starters for most of the first half.
My post was from as the game was just tipping off. I was commenting on how many guys were out. I did watch most of this one and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The bench guys played pretty well and gave it a good effort. I don't like the chucking from Washington Jr but he did score a lot. And others like Landale, Lee seem like genuine rotation guys.
So we keep the ball dominant guard with 11 turnovers...I give...we're dumb...lol...
No. Washington is a much better player.
Ya, he’s just not a pg. Kinda weird that we only kept Lee for 2 days though. Seems like he was simply just a body since CP3 wasn’t playing and Payne/Shamet were hurt. We kept Adonis though? He didn’t even get in on Wednesday.

I feel like Lee said or did something the team didn't like. It sure was a short leash.
Pretty sure it’s as simple as Lee was just extra body for the last preseason game and now that’s it over, there’s no need to keep him. I guess they could’ve waited to Monday for the final cut but I don’t think its a sign of anything bad, maybe he has opportunity elsewhere? He was never gonna make team anyways. Lee wanted more tape for future teams to see and suns needed an extra body. I don’t think it’s deeper than that
