Sure, but then you’re stretching the lineups pretty thin. You’d have mostly lineups with 1 and 2 starters and no 3 starter lineups. Not sure that’s what you want eitherShabazz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 8:17 pmIt’s not hard at all to stagger 3 players so one is on the court at all times.Split T wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 8:01 pmWell we only have 3 starters currently, so kinda hard to stagger them, but I agree about the bare cupboardShabazz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 7:43 pmWe lost this one with the atrocious end to the 3rd quarter where it seems like we passed their team the ball on 8 consecutive possessions to go from down 1 to down 13.
Our end of the quarter lineup was Lee, Okogie, Landale, Ish and Washington - three minimum guys and two 2-way guys. That’s on Monty for not doing a better job staggering the starters and Jones for leaving the cupboard so bare.

Deni Avdija is the second coming of Dragan Bender. Not impressed.

Bender wasn’t even an nba player…You can not be a fan of Avdija, but he’s much better than Bender ever was.specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 9:22 pmDeni Avdija is the second coming of Dragan Bender. Not impressed.

Debatable. The kings of putting up minimal stats in heavy minutes. They just don’t do anything that well. “Defense”Split T wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 9:28 pmBender wasn’t even an nba player…You can not be a fan of Avdija, but he’s much better than Bender ever was.specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 9:22 pmDeni Avdija is the second coming of Dragan Bender. Avdija is 11/7/4 per-36 this year. You’re right that’s not a lot, mainly the shooting needs to improve, but the skills are there. He’s got a .524 TS%, his career best is .536.
Bender was 10/8/2 per-36 in his best year here. His TS% was .521. Bender was just super passive and I never saw him as a good defensive player. He had some potential, but Avdija is much better on that end imo. So to me, Avdija is a better athlete(Bender was always so awkward to me), more skilled as a playmaker, and a better defender.

Bender averaged 9 FGA per 36 min in his career. Avdija 9.9.

I don't really care about anything else about these games except Ayton's progression. Nothing else except the emergence of previously untapped playmaking talent from Bridges will make a difference long-term.

Never understood what people see in Deni. He's smart but he doesn't really have an NBA body or ability. Probably make a good coach some day.specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 9:22 pmDeni Avdija is the second coming of Dragan Bender. Not impressed.

I think the playmaking is significant. So is the defense. He’s going to need to shoot to be playable as a rotation guy but he’s got some peripheral stuff. Bender didn’t have anything. He was really tall, but there wasn’t anything he did well on the court. He was theoretically a good shooter, but that didn’t show up on the court. We never saw the playmaking he showcased in Europe. His defense also wasn’t good. He couldn’t defend the perimeter and was too weak to hold up in the paint. Avdija can defend and he’s shown an ability to playmake.specialsauce wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 9:47 pmThose stats are almost literally the same dude. Yeah, it would have sucked to have him on our team tonight.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 7:17 pmNice little showcase by Rui. Still wouldn’t be excited to acquire him for Crowder.

He's fine, but there'd be a non-zero chance he wouldn't play in a playoff game. Is a win in December really worth that risk?INFORMER wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 10:24 pmYeah, it would have sucked to have him on our team tonight.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 7:17 pmNice little showcase by Rui. I haven’t seen enough from Rui to trust him in the playoffs. I’d rather not trade Crowder for that type of player.

One step forward, one step back. This team is just snakebitten this year. We can't string together any wins with Booker out. I feel like we're going to drop into play-in territory real fast.

We’re already only a half game out of play-in territory. We could be there Friday
