This team needs a Paul Silas, Buck Williams type player who goes out and does the dirty work and holds everybody else accountable.
I mentioned this when Crowder held out. He was our “enforcer”. We have nothing like that now.

Mo Lucas. Curtis Perry and Gar Heard.

Craig, at times, comes close. But he's not consistent and operates too much on the perimeter.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

But he was wildly inconsistent with his prodution. Having him in there right now would be better than nothing though.

Didn't even make it to halftime before I turned it off. What are we supposed to take away from this game? The last game? This road trip? That James Jones is playing chess or something. Cool. Keep hitting marks of futility though. Keep holding out for a Crowder for Durant trade. All the other GMs want to help the Suns, James. Keep doing the same dumb game plan Monty. Maybe stop being so polite about everything. Show some fire when you're getting your dicks kicked in game in and game out.

They'/re not getting the production or the leadership they need from him this year.

But the bottom line is, they don't get the leadership they need from the coaching staff either. This team has come out with some glaringly-poor efforts over the last month.

Westphal was sort of siumilar as a coach, but he was a lot more of an X's and O's guy than monry is. Monty really misses having Willie Green around for that.

It's not just the production, it's the style and pace at which he plays. It works when he's at the top of his game, but when it's this washed version of him playing it, the team is dead on the vine.

I’m glad we are showcasing how much we suck without Booker. At the very least James Jones can’t say he thought we had enough. I still don’t think it makes much sense to go all in on this year, but we need to make moves, just with next year in mind. Not sure we’ll do that…I’d be pretty pissed if we traded a 1st for Eric Gordon at this point though…But Jae for Rui? Sure give it a whirl, maybe he is worth keeping around.

I’d still be ok with a Kuzma trade, I think he makes sense long term. Siakam and KD of course I’d be all for(though KD would make a lot more sense in the summer if things blow up in Brooklyn again).

Gonna be an interesting month up to the trade deadline though.

Bingo:

And a Dario problem.

And a Landry problem.

And a Jae problem.

We have way too much money that’s just being thrown away on players that either aren’t playing or seem to be benefitting the opponent more than our own team

Too many players not living up to their contracts (DA, Mikal)
Too many players constantly hurt (Book, the Cams)

Not enough tough guys
Not enough value for the contract guys

And definitely too many role players and only one star.

We need to decide which overpaid role players we want to hang on to and turn the roster over with the others to obtain Book some help

I’m not sure who you can trade Paul to that A) wants him, B) He’d want to go to as well.

The Lakers? Maybe but seems like wishful thinking.

I’m not sure what the answer is here. He’s only going to get worse at this point.

Exactly. One star, 4 role players. Too many injuries and not getting anything in out of Jae, Dario, and Landry. Fucking unbelievable at this point. Every GM is being stubborn and not losing on a trade to JJ. I still think he should have pulled the trigger last year on Gordon. We could have beat Dal and lost to GSW but better than that embarrassment of a playoff loss.

Anybody here still delusional about where this roster stands even when healthy?
It looks like James Jones figured his work was finished with a month left in the 2002-21 season.
Man, remember when we were so good last season?

Tough convo/decision but might be time to start Payne and bring CP off the bench. Play him a little less, let him work against opposing backups and finish games when needed.

I’m at a point now where I am turning it off once we go down 20 in the first half.

It’s the same bullshit over and over. Not interested in a team that cannot or will not even compete.

Not going to watch Mikal Beta Bridges do a 3 point dance when he hits a 3 down 25.
Yeah, I didn’t like that either.

This starting lineup has no one able (or willing, in DA’s case) to generate paint points. So we’re treated to watching a disgusting procession of bricks from the mid-range and 3.

Our first paint basket came at 9:40 in the second quarter with Dario (who should never play over Ish) passing to Jock for a dunk.

Paul is toast (-31 in the half) and Shamet firing his rockets at the rim. DA won’t attack. This team is disgusting.
Our first free throw came half way through the 3rd quarter as well. DA’s shot is so flat. That three was embarrassing that barely grazed the bottom of the rim. It’s amazing that his shot accuracy out to 15 feet is so good because he leaves no room for error due to his lack of arc.

And yeah, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such a huge drop off in play from one season to the next than Paul. Maybe Jim Jackson.

How long until we hear about the Suns having a “player’s only meeting”? Always hear about those when teams are sucking.
At least there won’t be any collaging now that Blabby is gone.

Plus, I wonder what Ishbia is thinking right now?
