One worry I've had with this recent trade is how it could negatively affect Ayton as he's lost the two guys who're closest to him. Early indication points to him being focused on winning basketball games, but we know he has a history of not backing up his words with action on the court. I'm optimistic this will be better for him in the long run, but he will be the scapegoat if it's not working out down the line.
He'll only be the scapegoat if he's not pulling his weight. His job once KD is suited will have never been easier.
Not entirely true. I can envision the Suns reworking the lineup to bring in a different all-star level guard and "downgrading" the Center position. It's mostly a salary cap puzzle.

Outside of Kyrie I'm not sure there will be much in the guard pool available. Certainly not gonna move Ayton for a obvious downgrade like FVV.
Love, Hurts.

Moving Ayton could be our only real way to retool the team going forward. I don’t envision CP3 holding much value. Booker and KD obviously would but they’re not being moved. I hope Ayton just buys in and becomes an elite defensive center who protects the rim, can switch on the perimeter, finishes at a hyper efficient rate and abuses switches in the post. Oh and crashes the offensive glass. He’s worth 30 million a year if he does that. If he’s the Ayton of most this year, I’d rather have a 15 million a year center and a 15 million a year 3&D guy.

Did you think the Suns would have Kevin Durant on the team a year ago? Less than that, did you think they'd even have a shot at having Kevin Durant?

👀

2026 Suns lineup is gonna be insane.

Luka-Book-Mikal-Giannis-Embiid

With Tatum and SGA coming off the bench
Well Toronto did get Poeltl back after trading him for Kawhi...
