Mikal Bridges & Cam Johnson Appreciation Thread

One thought I had is that if Mikal had done this a few times in a Suns uniform, we may have been able to make the trade without including Cam.

He'd been playing amazingly well for weeks prior to the trade deadline. He was basically leading our offense with Book and/or CP3 out. Honestly we had plenty of data on our side to argue that including all of Mikal, CamJ, Crowder, and 4 1sts was too much. But our new owner wanted to make a splash, so he just gave the Nets everything they were asking for without any concessions from their side.

He didn’t have a 45/8/5 game though…if he had done that before the trade we may have been able to get a concession.

Mikal was set to stand in the corner waiting for a 3 ball while CP3/Book got all the action run for them at the elbows. It was a gross underutilization of his skills. Of course the injuries forced him into that role and he blossomed, and now he’s doing that for BKN.

We should have started last year incorporating this and taking CP3 off the hall more.
